RECENT PROJECTS: Game of Life Despicable me
HasbroWorked on this project from concept to Universal handover. I worked on this project alone from concept to Universal handover. I designed a game mechanic of ‘mini spinners’ which allowthe direction of play to be randomised, which fitted perfectly with the crazy nature of minions. Gained experience of working in collaboration with Universal on huge licences.
Squeezy Soap Dispenser
BPMA Design Awards 2013 I was awarded 4th place out of hundreds of entrants for the ‘innovative promotional product‘ I designed from the adaptation of a soap dispenser I had previously designed. Lowering the cost through size and material selection and simplification of parts allowed it to be sold as a promotional product. I exhibited the product at marketing week live securing potential investors for a future Kickstarter campaign.
Shower Safety Octo-harness
Human Factors - Brunel University LondonLooking into bathtime safety for toddlers and babies I decided to explore the user experience for families without a bath in their homes (an increasing occurrence). From user research it was found that many parents shower with their child due to ease of supporting the child in the shower, which is essential to the child’s safety; this prevents the parent and child playtime interaction time that is achieved with the bathtime routine. Octo-harness allows for the fun and parent-child engagement to be brought back into the showertime routine whilst keeping them safe. Looking into standards and child safety.
Monopoly Venture
Contextual Design Project - Brunel University LondonFrom studying Monopoly as a brand we re-positioned it 10 years into the future. Monopoly Venture allows for outdoor family bonding and cherishing those memories stored in a night-light-picture-frame. In 2025 as cities become more compact, likewise of accommodation, the adventurous nature of the children and bonding in families, especially split families and hybrid families, will become more difficult, Monopoly Venture helps to re-unite these families.
