Highlights of large special events that I have conceptualized, planned and implemented.
  • 1. Elizabeth A. Schaaf Special Event/Meeting Planning Highlights {Why Should You Consider Hiring Me?Please briefly review programs and events, Iconceptualized, planned, implemented andevaluated.

2. Annual Matters of the Heart ConferenceI conceptualized, secured grant funding and sponsorships, recruited speakers, and oversaw all logistical aspects of this large annual event that continues to this day. Event draws of 400 community members and health professionals. 3. Matters of the Heart SymposiumInterfaced with outside vendors including floral, rental companies,audiovisual, lighting, transportation, parking, and other outside vendors. 4. Matters of the Heart Key Note Speaker, Joy Bauer from the Today Show Weekly Nutrition show with CEO of RWJUHSecured Joy from the Today Show to present at this large health event.Planned her travel & hotel accommodations, and coordinated her book-signing. 5. National Wear Red Day Conference and Health FairExecuted all aspects of this event that grew from 50in 2009 to 250 in 2011. During thisevent , speakers, educators and survivors discussed the prevalence of heart disease in woman and how to prevent it. Panel of Experts for Q and A period. 6. Community Outreach Events 7. I have had the pleasure to work with Elizabeth on a quitenumber of Special Events. Annual Breast Cancer Awareness and Survivorship ConferenceThis event also serves as means to educate the public about breast care, diagnostics, treatment and navigation services available at hospital.Over the years, this event has served a wonderful PR event for RWJUH. 9. Fifth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness and Survivorship Conference Secured speakers and Keynote, Hoda Kotb, a breast cancer survivor from theToday Show. I produced the program content and organized all logistics of theevent. 10. In the 2-1/2 years that I worked with Elizabeth, I foundher to be dedicated, knowledgeable and committed toconsistently delivering high-quality events for RWJUH.January 22, 20121st Cheryl Sarfaty, Public Relations Manager,Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital 11. Bristol Myers Squibb Childrens Hospital10th Anniversary{ 12. Uninsured children received free dental care on Friday,Feb. 3 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital(RWJUH) through Give Kids A Smile!, a nationalprogram of the American Dental Association (ADA).I organized all aspects of securing dentists, hygienists,volunteers, materials, supplies, promotion andentertainment. 13. Diabetes Awareness Day Events at Hospital and in the Community 14. Annual Diabetes Conference, 2010 15. Lead and managed all aspects thehospitals launch and grand-opening ofnew fitness and wellness center. GrandOpening -commanded over 700 attendeeson June 18, 2011.{ 16. Rutgers Day Even 17. Ground-breaking EventNew Fitness Center in New BrunswickComing in late 2012 18. Worked with this grocer and catering company to select healthy foodsand feed the over 500 attendees at a ground-breaking event in July2011. 19. Medical Research Roundtable EventPlanned a tri-state conference for patients and families with rare neurologicalconditions. Over 200 healthcare professionals and families in attendance in June 2011. Comments on next slide. 20. Medical Research Roundtable EventI am the Vice President of Programs and Education for aninternational medical non-profit organization located in Baltimore,MD. Elizabeth worked closely with us over many months in herposition at Robert Wood Johnson, assisting in the development andexecution of the most successful family conference in the history ofour organization. Her expertise, responsiveness to our needs andcreativity in solving problems made the event seamless. I wouldhighly recommend her as a professional whose talents are applicableto managerial positions in a wide range of companies andorganizations.Top qualities: Great Results, Expert, High Integrity Trish Caruana hired Elizabeth as an Event Manager in 2011 21. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at one healthcare institution before the awareness van made its trip to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. 22. I am photographed after taking the DVT risk assessment myself. 23. I worked with PR and outside media to ensure RWJUH had significant media coverage including webcasting, television, social media and print for this awareness event. 24. Elizabeth is a tremendous asset to any company sheworks with. She is persistent, determined, and hardworking. She has a great ability to establish andmaintain relationships as well.
