ELLE MAGAZINE
EDITORLorraine Candy has been the editor of Elle UK since 2004, and before that she held the same position at Cosmo magazine. She has also appeared on Sky One’s ‘Project Catwalk’ as well as Channel Four’s ‘Model Behaviour’.
Although of French origin Elle is published monthly in twenty eight different
languages to a readership of six million six hundred thousand people per month. Elle
is published by Hachette Filipacchi Médias; the first issue was published in
France in 1945.
PUBLISHING
Elle magazine has a target audience of specifically women who are aged between sixteen
and thirty. Elle appeals to this audience with almost exclusively female cover stars, pink colour
schemes, and articles surrounding women's fashion or beauty. The magazine also features
many adverts for top of the range products, so the women who buy Elle probably have disposable
income.
