Past Continuous Tense

• Características:• Utilizamos o passado contínuo para

expressar ações que estavam ocorrendo em um passado recente.

• Verbos principais com ING no final:Ex: work- working

play- playing

•Formação:

•Verbo TO BE (passado) + Verbo Principal com (ING)

•Exemplos:•         I            was     working     at the hotel.•         You     were     living          in London.•         He         was     studying     Spanish .•         She       was      teaching    at that school .•         It            was      working      2 minutes ago.•         We        were     reading       a magazine.•         You        were    writing         a book.•         They      were     driving         too fast.

Formas negativa e interrogativa• Contrações:

• was not = wasn´t / were not = weren´t

Example:

Susan was looking for a job.

Neg: Susan wasn´t looking for a job.Int: Was Susan looking for a job?
