• Established 1951 to ensure that municipal records are appropriately controlled and managed
• Set records management standards for all City departments
• Manages key records operations and services: City Archives, Records Storage Center, Recorder of Deeds, central reprographic services
• Manages public access to municipal records
• Official tax registry
• Collects realty transfer taxes and document recording fees
• Maintains real property database and tax maps
