EPGThe Annual EuropeanPOWER GENERATION STRATEGY SUMMIT
Hosting a delegation of the chief decision-makers and strategists within Europe’s Power Utilities Industry, EPG 2011 invites you to gain critical insights into formulating a balanced and forward-looking power portfolio. Addressing the crucial market, regulatory and technological issues and questions that are delaying the swift execution of comprehensive and far-reaching decarbonisation efforts, attending delegates will hear from the most accomplished, successful practitioners, experts and pioneers in the industry. Participants will address the critical issues affecting the power portfolio and how to enable effective forward planning despite continuing volatile economic conditions.
thE EPG ExECutivE DElEGatiOn: A Summit Specifically Formulated for Decision Makers & StrategistsThe EPG Summit is the European Power Industry’s leading peer-to-peer forum for discussing strategic business planning issues for the following executive profiles from incumbent and independent energy utility companies:• CEOs, Presidents & Chairmen • CFOs and Heads of Finance• Heads of Strategic Project and Business Planning and Development• Heads of Power Assets and Generation Portfolio Management• Directors of Legal and Regulators Affairs• Senior Managing and Project Directors • Heads of Risk Management • Heads of R&D• Heads of Analysis • Heads of Trading
POwER-tECh 2011 (power Technologies Forum - Monday 28th november & 3-Day exhibition)The Power-Tech 2011 Forum will take place on Monday 28thth November with the exhibition spanning the full 3 day Summit in the EPG Exhibition Lounge (28th,29th & 30thNovember)
Power-Tech 2011 will specifically focus on:• New Technology Show-Cases from Leading Developers and Manufacturers• New Technologies Improving Efficiencies and Power Conversion for:
• Coal and Gas Generation – Nuclear & Renewables• Including Wind, Hydro, Solar, Tidal Power and Geo-Thermal Technologies
• New and existing Power Plant Upgrades• The Latest Advances in Smart-Grid Technology and the Implications for Power Generators• Progress on Major European CCS Pilot Projects• How to Incorporate Increasing Levels of RES into the European Energy Market• Case Studies from Prototype Hydrogen Economies• Utilising advances in energy storage toward releasing the potential of intermittent generation
the 2011 EPG Power Project Financing & M&a Forum (Focus Day - Monday 28th november)Conventional and renewable energy asset buyers, sellers and developers will also come together in Prague to network and gather intelligence from the Global and European power utilities industry together with equity investors, investment bankers, lenders, government representatives and regulatory expertsAs efforts to achieve critical C02 reduction targets drive the renewal and development of more efficient hydrocarbon power stations and renewable energy assets, buyers and sellers are looking to make deals for individual projects or entire companies. The deal market for energy assets is changing in size and scope and although market players are prepared to deal, the path to selecting and structuring the deals and actually closing them is challenging. As regional government incentives to develop assets change with creditors willing to proceed largely on syndicated projects, the EPG Finance forum is ultimately an excellent opportunity to meet potential strategic partners.
Reasons to attend the Financing and M&a FoRuM:• Enhance your understanding of the dynamics governing the current market for energy financing and M&A deals in Europe given current financial conditions• Discover how to engage strategic players to form syndicated financing groups by knowing what they look for in terms of partners and acquisition targets• Become updated on how regulatory changes will affect the sector• Discuss the investment banking community’s perspectives on the deal market• Gauge how conventional and renewable energy project developers view the market over the coming year• Become aware of the type of deals equity investors are seeking• Increase awareness of how to navigate through a transaction and become familiar with the type of terms financiers are offering
speciFically Relevant FoR:• CEOs, Presidents, Chairmen • CFOs & Heads of Finance • Heads of Investment • Heads of Strategic Business Planning and Development • Heads of Power Assets and Generation Portfolio • Heads of Risk Management &Project Directors • Heads of Regulatory Affairs & Directors of Legal Divisions
