SAFETY

FORWARD COLLISION ALERT. This available featurecontinually monitors how closeyour vehicle is to the vehiclein front of you. If the systemdetermines that a front-endcollision with a detected vehicleis imminent, it alerts the driverto a potential crash. It alsowarns the driver if their Equinoxis following a detected vehiclemuch too closely.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING. If you unintentionally change lanes without signalling, this available camera-basedsystem sends an alert. Thecamera, mounted near theinterior rear-view mirror, reads traffic lane markings when identifiable and providesaudible and visual alerts.

SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT.1 New on 2016 models, thisavailable feature uses radarsensors on both sides of thevehicle to “look” for othervehicles in your side mirror blind zones and indicates theirpresence with LED-lit symbolsin the exterior mirrors.

REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT. Also new for 2016, this availablesystem uses the same radarsensors as the Side Blind ZoneAlert1 to help alert drivers toapproaching traffic whenbacking up. Visual and audiblealerts are triggered if movingvehicles are detected.

REAR VISION CAMERA. Standard on Equinox, the rearvision camera displays a viewof the area immediately behindthe vehicle on the 178 mm (7 in.)diagonal colour touch-screen —making it easier to see what’sbehind you while backing up.

SAFETY STARTS WITH YOU. Safety features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Read the vehicle Owner’s Manual for more important safety information.
