Performance/Access MetricsMetric Description Status Goal Baseline

DataNumber of Sessions(Access and Load)

Number of sessions actively in use over time as compared to overall capacity

Both SSB and INB did not exceed 30% of capacity. INB peaked in September at 20% of capacity ; SSB peaked in September at 25% of capacity.Because access is moving to the Portal, we can no longer track SSB visits. From 1/1 – 1/25, 2011, we have had 1,142,130  total Portal visits and 358,070 unique Portal visits.

Goal of not exceeding 70% of capacity has been met.

3rd Quarter 2008January 2010 we had 147,362 unique visits to SSB and 60,277 unique visits to the portal at ACC and NJC. January 09 we had 160,597 SSB unique visits and in August 08 we had 123,187

Network Capacity and Utilization

Measure of network efficiency and availability. Monitoring of usage to ensure sufficient bandwidth capacity for peak periods

Internet bandwidth currently at 490MB. Internet bandwidth remains at acceptable level running at 60% or less of capacity. WAN circuits are problematic for some rural campuses. We are working with the EagleNet BTOP project to get the additional bandwidth at our rural campuses where services are a premium cost for minimal connectivity. Redundant circuit being installed for southern Colorado where outages have been major problems.

Goal for both WAN and Internet is less than or equal to 85% of maximum capacity and 99% up time. We did meet 85% goal. Our only outages this period were caused by Qwest.Industry standard for saturation is 75%. Our WAN traffic is more saturated than our Internet traffic and is college specific.

Previous year our capacity and uptime for WAN and Internet was frequently at maximums. Migration of several locations to ethernet connections and additional bandwidth for same cost was achieved.

Multiple PIDM (person records)

Creation rate. When duplicate person records (PIDM) are created they must be manually reconciled within Banner which requires significant human resources.

For Fall 2010, 268 total duplicates were created. Of those duplicates:242 were from Finance users due to multiple vendors, 26 were student related and 0 HR related. Finance and Student duplicates are being resolved.

Reduce from current semester rate of 1,500. Spring 09 represents a 50% decrease overall and 500% decrease in Student

Currently of 1.2M PIDMs, 21,500 are multiples, majority of which are older records and conversion related. 1,500 new multiple PIDMs were created in Fall 2007.
