2.1 Unpacking/delivery 2. Installation
Step 1
Tranport
The valve is only to be transported using appropriate loading
m eans:
D o not drop the valve and handle it carefully. U npack it and
then read this m anual.
The valve is packed in a recyclable cardboard box.
Step 2
Delivery and performance
CAUTION! Alfa Laval cannot be held responsible for incorrect unpacking.
C heck the goods for com pletenes and dam age im m ediately upon receipt.
The scope of delivery is apparent from the dispatch docum ents and the
design from the order num ber.
Step 3
Storage
Store the valve d ry in its original packaging. Avoid U V rays and direct sun
irradiation. The m axim um storage tem perature is +40C .

2.2 General installation2. Installation
Ensure the suitability of the valve for each respective use.
The valve must be approp riate for the piping system operating conditions (med ium, medium concent ration, temperature and
pressure) and the prevailing ambient cond itions.
Check the technical details of the valve and the materials.
Step 2
Installation of valve body:
- Ensure that the plant is depressurized and com pletely
drained.
- D econtam inate the plant, w ash it out and ventilate it.
Pay special attention to:
- Vibrations
- Therm al expansion of the tubes
- Excessive w elding
- O verloading of pipelines
Step 3
Installation of Aseptic D iaphragm Valve differs dependent on
the body:
Threaded connections/clamp connection:
Install the valve in the state it is delivered in:
- Screw the threaded connections into the piping
according to valid norm s.
- W hen assem bling the clam p connectors, insert the
respective gasket betw een body and piping connector
and join the w ith a clam p.
D ependent on the inteded use and the threaded connection
type, use appropriate seal m aterial (seal m aterial and clam p
are not included in the delivery!).
Butt weld spigots:
NOTE!D isassem ble the actuator before w elding the body into
the pipeline. The disassem bly is described in chapter 4.
O rbital w elding process is recom m ended.
Step 1
-Always read the technical data thoroughly (see chapter 5)
-Always release com pressed air after use.
CAUTION! Alfa Laval cannot be held responsible for incorrect installation.

NOTE!W hen cleaning the pipe system using causitc the plant operator is responsible for selecting the caustic m edia and
carrying out the process.
Step 3
Service and maintenance notes
Seals and diaphragm s sink in the course of tim e. B efore
operating the valve, check the tightness of the bolts and nuts
on the body and re-tighten if necessary (follow ing operation
or, w ith C IP system s, at the latest after the rst sterilisation
process).
CAUTION!
An even compression of the diaphragm according to the
general information for elastomers (visual checking) and
