• The Barcelona Process begins in 1995• attended by 15 EU members and 12 countries of the
Mediterranean Basin • vision: will to give to future euro-med relations a
new dimension, based on comprehensive cooperation and solidarity

the development of the cultural sphere
Following the launch of the Barcelona Partnership in 1995, a range of regional networks emerged.
Examples include:Examples include:
• Euro-Med Human Rights Network (est. 1997), to support and publicise universal principles of human rights as expressed by Barcelona Declaration
• Euro-Med Heritage, (est. 1998) promoting and protecting the material and immaterial heritage of Mediterranean countries
•Euro-Med Youth Platform (est. 2003), supporting networking between young people and youth associations
•COPEAM, a forum of exchange of know-how and active cooperation between audio-visual operators
