Throughout his career, Prof. Tsartas, has taught modules regarding the broader spectrum of Tourism Development such as: Tourism and the Environment, Sociology of Tourism, Geography of Tourism, Tourism Marketing, Tourism Economics, Greek Tourism Economy, Tourism Management, Tourism Planning, Social Science Methodology, Special Interest Tourism, Tourism Destination Management etc.
Professor Tsartas has30 years of experience in consulting and research -as scientific responsible or senior consultant - in a various number of projects and studies funded or co- funded by the EE other international bodies or national Greek organizations The subjects studied are : Tourism Development, Sustainable Tourism, Special Interest Tourism, Tourism Destination Management, Local Tourism Development,Tourism Education
Prof. Tsartas has participated in the Academic Groups of Experts which designed the undergraduate academic programs on Tourism in the Business Departments at the University of the Aegean and the Cyprus University of Technology. He has also participated in the Group of Experts which designed postgraduate programs in Tourism at the Hellenic Open University and the University of the Aegean. He has also designed as a member of the Academic Group of Experts the academic program in Tourism of the National School for Public Administration.
Currently he is involved in the Academic Groups of Experts which are designing the following interdepartmental postgraduate programs in Tourism: 1. Since 1997 he has supervised 12 Phd Theses in Tourism, more than 75 MSc theses in Tourism and 40 Bachelor theses. In addition he participated in the scientific committees of 43 Phd Theses of Tourism in various universities in Greece.
