At this point in the video, the song plays ‘falling in love, falling in love’. Here the character is kissing the boy she has admired the whole time and he finally sees her for who she is. She has finally received the happy ending she has lined for., and has’ fallen in love’. This close relation to the lyrics re enforces the idea that it is a story being told, and this is shown through the similarities in the word as and the images.

Here the main artist is seen kissing her lifelong crush, this is also at the climax of the music video, and creates happy ending-like sequence, once again relating to my fairytale aspect. the song sings’ you belong with me’ in the background. This relates back to the shot of true love and them finally finding each other.

Here the artists are seen walking through the courtyard for the first time with their new look. This typical empowering scene re enforces the pop genre and gives the female roles a dominating shot type. The colours are strong and bright and this gives ff the connotations of the genre. The girls are centre shot and this highlights their importance within the video. Other female artists use this types of angles to represent themselves as being dominant and important.

Here the three artists stand on top of a New York high rise in a party-like setting, they wear expensive clothes and look at the camera from a high angle. This shows the artists as being powerful and dominant within the video, because of their appearance they become more sexualised and are able to show off their bodies and be proud of their appearance.

Here we can see people dancing in a ball at the end of a song. This carries forth the pop genre because it bright and upbeat. They are having a good time and there are no darker connotations. Normally with pop songs there is a storyline that is quite clear and focuses. This finale like scene sticks within that genre.

Here the artist is seen singing into a microphone in an old dingy bar. She sings the lyrics to the song. In this shot she is literally using music to deliver her message. She is on stage and stands behind the microphone with her eyes shut, a typical and classic shot.

This character here loosely represents the character of Cinderella, she is seen her cleaning with a rag and has the typical blonde hair and tatty clothes. This character has been seen through many texts through history such as 2015 Cinderella and a Cinderella story in the early 2000’s. These characters all go through the same catharsis and storyline.

Here the artist has chosen to use an image that is well known and used throughout many other texts. The idea of being an Egyptian god in order to look dominant and wealthy has been an idea use throughout history. It is an intertextual reference that is well known and understood by many, the artist has stylised the image and added her own spin on it using colours such s purples and pinks.

This shot here not only shows that she is crying and upset by what has previously happened, but she is also looking at herself in the mirror, physically and metaphorically. She is seeing what is missing in her life and she decides to make a few changes. This shot shows that and we can see her looking in their at herself.

The artists has used a shot that reflects how she feels at this point in time. the shot captures the whole artist, as well as the wrecking ball. The greys and the demolition backdrop shows that the artist is revealing a lot about her self, the video is raw and she feels exposed to the camera. I wanted to show the same thing in my video. To see that the artist is feeling raw and as if she has nothing to hide, or in my case no where to hide.

This shot shows that the girls are finally exiting the darkness and the shadows and moving towards the light, once again it is both physical and metaphorical. They are centre stage and in the middle of the shot, highlighting their importance.

In this video, the artists uses dark tones and colours to create certain feelings and emotions. Here she has used a mix between black and white and sepia in order o create a very nostalgic feel. She is looking back at her past and contemplating about it. The colours reflect how she sees her self and how she remembers the past. Both shots and the lighting used show how the artists feel and how the change in character is apparent.

This shot symbolises a growth of some sort or a metamorphosis. This character who represents snow white is sitting among leaves and shrubbery whilst eating an apple. This shot constructs the image of her become one with nature and not only gaining the connotations that come along with the character but also becoming something new and growing into a new character after finding her confidence.

Here the artist has used miss en scene to develop a certain look. She has used bright colours and eccentric design to show that the video is light hearted and fun. In both my video and hers, the artist is trying to get back to who she really is, finding her inner self. The greens and flowers represent nature and being very raw and honest about who you are and who you want to be.

Here we see the bully stare at the nerds as they walk past her fully transformed into better looking figures. She stares with hatred and looks malicious and evil. I have actually been inspired by the original video, where she is shown in an over the shoulder shot. This very stereotypical character can been transformed into many types pf people.

Here the bully-like figure looks at the artist. She gives a very stern and manipulative smile. This shows the type of character she is and through the shot that is created we can see the type of person she is. Both shots represent the person in the same way, they are very rude and give sarcastic and fake grins. This allows there to be a balance between the god and the evil in the video.

Page 11: Evaluation 1.

Here the artists are seen standing very powerful and domineeringly. I have taken this idea from the bad blood video by Taylor swift, where she and her friends are walking through the fire towards battle, although the scenario is different the same angle and carter shot is used, creating very powerful characters and putting them in a position of ore.

Like the second slide both of these shots represent the woman as being powerful and dominant. They are seen coming forth from a darkness that may have kept them back in the past. They are now stronger than the have ever been and this is shown through the shot and the rise en seen.
