What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have used a wide range of technologies to construct my magazine, from computer software to cameras, which have taught me useful skills.

Concerning the camera, I have learnt the importance of choosing shot types; whether to use a close up or a long shot depending on the intended look of the page. For example, I decided to use a long shot on the double page spread as it was a larger image, but on the content page where images were small I used medium close ups to ensure the faces of the artists could be seen clearly by the reader.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I also learnt how to use software such as:

- Photoshop (for my cover and contents page)

- InDesign (for my double page spread)

I also used a blog to document all of the stages of research and planning throughout the creation of the magazine. This was done using www.blogger.com

I used the tools to create various parts of the magazine. For example, I used the T tool to create text which was used for the cover lines.

This is a screen shot of my final magazine cover for AMP.

Once the cover line, shown above, has been created using the text tool, I learnt how to make it more visually appealing using ‘layers’. Right clicking the text layer, I used the blending options to add effects such as a stroke to make it stand out on the page. BEFORE

Using the rectangle frame tool, I created a rectangle in the space that I wanted my main image to go.

I then clicked file and place to place the image I wanted to feature on the double page spread.

This is a screen shot of my blog posts. I learnt how to use this website in order to record the production of my magazine, including how to successfully lay out posts, with labels for example.
