How effective is the main

combination of your media product and

ancillary tasks?

Evaluation question 2

Page 2: Evaluation q 2

Did you produce photo shoots in conjunction and at the same time

as your music video, or did you wait for the main product to be

finished before producing your ancillary tasks?

Page 3: Evaluation q 2

I made my ancillary tasks along side my music video so while I was filming if I found shot that looked really nice I could used it in my poster .

The reason for not choosing to do my ancillary tasks afterwards was because I would find it stressful if I found I needed to do more work after I had finished my music video.

How well did you use appropriate technology

(Photoshop, YouTube, etc.) to develop your

ancillary tasks?

I used Photoshop to create both my Digipak and poster. I used this software because it is the easiest software to manipulate images with.

I think that Photoshop really helped me to make my poster and digipak look professional and more cleaner than if I had used other photo editing software.

For my digipak I started off using a digipak template and started building my own around that.

I made the background black to match the black background for my music video. I then added pop of color mostly pink and white because these are very feminine colors and Beyoncé’s audience is mostly female.

After audience feedback I added the record company as well as a barcode and centering my text.

This use of Photoshop allowed my to respond to my target audience’s feedback quickly as well as edit my work to the best of my ability.

I started by taking a picture from a shot in my filming where my main character (Eos ) is looking directly at the camera. I choose this picture because I though it looked really creepy, emotional, suspenseful and beautiful, the right image and emotions I wanted to be associated with my album and music video.

After making sure the background and that my photo blended seamlessly into it I place my photo above the photo of the album, the album name and information. But my target audience said that there was to much negative space and it made my poster look boring and empty.

I change my poster to have Eos’s face take up most of the poster and then I added a white bored as well as putting the album cover and title in the bottom left hand corner making my poster look nicer and more professional.

Using Photoshop here allowed me to make Eos’s photo look more cleaner and professional.

Where and when did you produce the initial information for your

ancillary tasks?

( e.g. on location with the main product, or afterwards at a different place?)

Page 9: Evaluation q 2

I produced the main information for m y ancillary tasks on my computer, researching ideas for albums on the internet and then putting those ideas into practice though Photoshop.

For my digipak I looked at Beyoncé's self titled album for inspiration as I liked the simplistic design of just having her name on the front cover as well as the color palette which was pink and black. I used this to create a digipak cover that had Beyoncé's name and the title of the album in pink and white so it stood out against the black album.

For my poster however I looked at all of Beyoncé's posters for her albums noticing the colors and the fact that she always appears in the poster in the costume she wore for the music video for the single of the album. I used this to inspired my own work by putting Eos as my main image for the poster.
