6) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

iMovie is a trademarked video editing software which enables users to edit and create videos in high definition. It is a good software for people that are beginners in the film making category.

From constructing the vampire opening scene of The Incurable, I have learnt that using the iMovie software for the apple macs have made the whole process of editing the opening scene a lot easier. This is because iMovie enables you to edit sound, insert audio, images and video clips, edit video clips, images and allows you to adjust the colour of the video clips to portray the desired horror and vampire look.By using iMovie, editing the video clips will enable the user to edit it to their own standards. Editing plays a major role for the film and therefore the film can be given a more dramatic and horrific look by using sharp cuts, extreme close up shots of the persons facial reactions. This can be done by using the crop options on the video clips or Ken burns that moves from one end of the scene to the other. This is useful because images can be inserted and by using ken burns, it can be shown as if it is an actual pre-recorded video clip. We used this technique in the beginning of the opening scene by inserting an image of the mental asylum as the establishing shot. The image starts at the bottom of the image of the mental asylum building and moves up.

I was also able to edit the opening film by using cut aways, this enables the editor to include facial expressions from the actors but still carry on with the original scene.

We have used iMovie to insert images for extra detail. The logo has been inserted into the opening scene. This logo represents the Bloody Productions company and will be seen as a way to attract attention and distinguishes the business identity.iMovie allows you to insert additional sound, this is useful because sound plays a major role in film editing as it is used to compliment the video. An upbeat sound will create a more upbeat atmosphere to the film whereas slow and dark sounds will create a more horrific and dark atmosphere. We added sounds that we got from (http://www.freesound.org/This is a copyright free website that we downloaded to give a scary theme to the opening scene.

Keynote enabled us to create a specific type of font that goes well with the theme of vampires.

This will help meet the conventions of a stereotypical vampire film.Adding and formatting an image on keynote requires simple steps. Apart from all the advantages, keynote also has limitations, it is only available on mac computers

When filming the opening scene, we used the canon 600D, tripod and tracks to make sure the footage was stable.

The 600D was a great camera to use as it recorded HD footage and the tripod was essential when recording still footages and also placing them on the tracks. It was helpful when recording such scenes such as I went mental as a character in the film. We set the tripod to the maximum length so that we got a clear shot of myself and my actions.

Blogger was a great way to post on blogs, sharing information and show evidence of the work produced so far. It also helped other students that are taking part of the film create posts and also comment on the posts that have been made.
