OUR PRELIMINARY EXERCISE

Our preliminary exercise was the first production that we did as a group. The scene produced did not have to be complex, but rather had to be a simple showcase displaying elements of match-on-action and the maintenance of the 180° rule.In addition to this, we used shot-reverse-shot when filming dialogue in order to show that the two characters involved were talking to each other.

HOW WE HAVE IMPROVED

Our preliminary exercise was extremely basic, yet it still showcased our ability to use match-on-action in an efficient manner, however within our final feature, we were able to attach two scenes together whilst they remained unbroken, in what was an overall smoother transition. As well as this we also were able to edit opening titles as to allow the name of our production company to disappear as a wipe. This displayed our advancement, as were now able to do more elaborate edits than before.

‘DO NOT PASS GO’

Our finished film, ‘Do Not Pass Go’ is a vast improvement on our preliminary exercise as it now includes more complex transitions, appropriate camera angles, the inclusion of non-diegetic sound and an overall better storyline. The final film shows how far we have come as a group.
