FALL QUARTERLY UP DA TE 2013 Longevity in buildings isn’t uncommon. Most are built to sta nd for more than 100 years. What’s a little more rare is when the company that helped bring them out of the ground is around after 100 years as well. Here at Evans, we’re proud of the work we’ve done in that time and the people we’ve worked with. From our founder J. Clyde Evans, to current president Don Evans, we want to thank all of the clients, architects, subcontractors and vendors that we have had the opportunity to work with for the past four generations.  As we continue on our journey for the next 100 years, we remain committed to our strong work ethic, customer satisfaction and dedication to quality for every one of our projects. Earlier this year, Evans completed

two retail projects. Dick

VanDyke Appliance World

opened its new 12,000 square

foot showroom and ofces next

to the cinemas on West Wabash

Avenue. Working with Steckel

Parker Architects and owners

Dennis & Lynn Rieken along with

their senior vice president John

Sheppard was a pleasure. Pleaseconsider Dick VanDyke for all of

your appliance purchases.

We also completed a new retail

store for CarpetWeavers.

Owner Mark Weaver contracted

with Evans to build their new

20,000sf warehouse and

showroom for their ooring andfurniture products. The new

store, located at Springeld’s

Prairie Crossing shopping area,

opened for business in August.

Evans and CarpetWeavers have

worked together on hundreds of

projects, and we were honored

to build their new facility. Check

out what they have to offer!

Later this year, Evans will

complete an $8 million addition

and renovation to the Prairie

Capitol Convention Center. The

renovations include upgraded

nishes to the existing lobby

area and lower level meeting

rooms. The project also includes

22,000sf of additional space for

new restroom facilities, catering

area, meeting space, outdoor

patio and expanded lobby area.

The improvements are sure to

bring additional events to ourcity. We’ve enjoyed working with

general manager Brian Oaks and

the PCCC Board.
