TRUST When trust exists in an organization or in a

relationship, almost everything else is easier and

more comfortable to achieve.

What motivates you to work diligently at your job? What’s

your relationship like with your boss or supervisor? If you

ask any CEO, most will openly tell you that the key to

building a strong, successful business begins with being

able to trust your employees to get the job done.

Could you imagine what it would be like if an employer

couldn’t trust their employees to show up for work or to do

an adequate job once they were there? That company

would be on the fast track to failure.

Always remember, all employees are expecting

high security from their employers as much as

those employers are expecting top performance

from them.

How do you feel when you work under Fear? Threats?

Risks?

What security factors employee is looking for in his

relationship with his employer?

14

Fairness From the receptionist at the front door to top

executives, people want to be treated fairly!

Trap: Understanding fairness can be challenging. An

organizational policy can be viewed as fair by some and unfair

by others.

Page 15: Ewaan

15

They will be more negatively affected by their workload.

Imagine what could happen, if employees are treated un-fairly!

They will have lower productivity.

They will have higher levels of conflict.

They will be more likely to resort to collective bargaining to solve their problems.

Why fairness is an important factor in the relationship

between employee and employer?

Symptoms like these are costly to both the employees and the organization. Most often, we create our judgment of “fairness” by comparing how things are and how things should be!

Appreciation

True or false? A company maintains its most

valued assets not by compensation, but by

appreciation.

That is absolutely, positively true. Research shows that people

leave their jobs because of a lack of appreciation not

compensation! IT IS possible for you to create a workplace

where people feel they are listened to, recognized and

appreciated, and where profitability grows.

Page 17: Ewaan

17

Treat people as though they were your most valuable asset, instead of

just saying so.

You get what you reward. Need we say no more.

Listen to everyone but not everything in your company.

Find people doing something right and let them know about it as

many times a day as possible.

Pay attention to people's work environments, make sure that people

have good equipment, furniture and working conditions.

Encourage managers to work for their employees, to be the type of

managers that employees want to work for because of their

commitment to developing their employees personally and professionally.

Ways of appreciation you may

exercise in your Organization

and speak the same language!

related to your business plan and strategy, and

avoid ambiguity statements when communicating

with Employees!

It is not enough to have vision, mission and strategy in place!

Most of employees even on higher management level do mix

between vision and mission!
