Urgent CareOur Urgent Care providers treat minoremergencies, acute problems, and urgentmedical needs when an unscheduled visit isnecessary. We provide convenient same daytreatment for many urgent health needswithout the high costs and long delaystypically associated with an emergency roomvisit.We are staffed by a full medical team,with board-certified physicians during allhours of operation.

Services are available without anappointment and during extended eveningand weekend hours for conditions that needprompt attention, but are not life threatening.Crisis situations and conditions requiringimmediate intervention, especially wherethere is risk of death or permanentimpairment, require emergency room care.

Here are some tips to try:� Make a list of your symptoms and bring it

Anticoagulation ServicesThe Anticoagulation Clinic (ACC) provides safeand effective management of anticoagulationwith Coumadin/Warfarin. Our highly-trainednurse practitioners and physician assistantscoordinate and optimize anticoagulationtherapy by:

Community Flu ShotProgramSansum Clinic provides flu shots through ourcommunity-wide Flu Shot Program eachOctober to January, resulting in better healthand well-being for the residents of ourcommunity. Visiting Professorof SurgeryThe Visiting Professor of Surgery EducationFund was established in December 2010 byRonald G. Take Preventive StepsImmunizations. Get a flu shot every year. Ifyou are 65 or older, get a pneumonia shot.Depending on your health problems, you mayneed immunizations to prevent diseases likewhooping cough or shingles. Talk with yourdoctor or nurse about what’s right for you.

Colon Cancer Prevention. People over 50 yearsof age should have colon cancer screening,usually with periodic colonoscopy. Somepatients with greater risk should startscreening before age 50.

Breast Cancer Screening.Women over 40years of age should have periodic (usuallyyearly) mammograms. Some women with

very strong family histories may require otherscreening tests and somemay even benefitfrommedications to lower their risk.

Skin Cancer Prevention.Wear sunscreen andavoid sun exposure, as skin cancers are themost common form of cancer. See yourprimary care physician or dermatologist ifthere are skin lesions that are concerning.
