Re: July 2012 Report of Activities
The main focus of activities this month has been on efforts to bring Commercial Jet, Inc. toDothan. Commercial Jet is an integrated aircraft maintenance repair, overhaul and modificationcompany currently located in Miami, Fla. The 40 year-old company is considering a complete
relocation of its operations to the Dothan airport.
I participated in a conference call on July l2 rvitli Mayor Mike Schmitz, Rep. Paul Lee and
Dothan's economic development director, Matt Parker. We discussed the Commercial Jet project
and what needed to be done in order to attract the con-rpany to Dothan to be housed in the oldPimco facilities. We developed a plan of action and the steps I needed to take. I met withGovernor Bentley and his chief of staff, David Perry, later that day to discuss the project and tl-re
commitment the state of Alabama would need to make as well as funding sources. I also set up a
meeting in the Governor's Office for the President and VP of Business Development ofCommercial Jet to meet with tlre govemor and other state officials.
The meeting with Commercial Jet took place in the Govemor's office on July 18. MayorSchmitz, Rep. Lee, Mr. Parker, representatives from the Dothan Chamber of Commerce, the
Dothan Airport along with the governor, David Perry and myself were in attendance. The
representatives from Commercial Jet were David Sandri, the President and John Schildroth, the
VP for Business Development.
The meeting was led by me outlining the project and explaining the opportunity to the govertlor* over 500 jobs and a $25,000 million annual payroll. The exact requirements needed by
Commercial Jet were laid out and I offered some options for the governor to consider. The
meeting was very positive and when it was over, the group went to visit with Greg Canfield inthe Commerce Department.
I have had subsequent conversations with Governor Bentley about the political and economic
positive impact this announcement would have for him and the state. I am confident this package
will be committed by the state and the local govemment arrd that it will be successful.
On July 27,Ihad a breakfast meeting in Ozark with a group of Wiregrass leaders, including twoof the SEAGD's board members (Ozark and Enterprise mayors) in attendance. The discussion
covered economic development efforts as well as legislative issues.
I am working on participating in a trip to France in September to visit with some Airbussuppliers. I have also been in discussions with Govemor Riley (who is working with Airbus) on
this along with some other economic development officials from the state.

Re: August 2012 Report of Activities
Work on the Commercial Jet project has continued. Throughout the month, I had numerousconversations with Matt Parker from the Dothan Economic Development Department and Gregcanfield with the Alabama Departrnent of commerce about the project.
I then coordinated a meeting in the Governor's Office on August 31, the second one to discussthis project. All of the players were in the meeting - Parker, Mayor Schmitz, Rep. paul Lee, Rep.Steve Clouse, representatives from the Dothan Chamber, Mayor Boswell along with theGovernor, David Perry, the Governor's Chief of Staff, and Blaine Galliher, the Governor'sLegislative Director. The overall project was discussed as well as the commitment needed fromthe state. A tentative commitment was rnade but additional information was required fromCommerce. A meeting with Linda Swann was arranged at the State House and all requestedinformation provided.
A comrnitment was made from Commerce that a decision would be made by Thursday,September 5. The goal is to have this project nailed down in order to make a publicannouncement in Dothan on October 2.
I will be traveling to France to meet with Airbus and some of their suppliers later this month. There is a group of l2 economic developers from Alabama going on the trip. I had lunch withSam Adcock with Airbus during the Republican National Convention in Tampa last week. He isarranging private meetings for me with some of their suppliers. My goal is to make contact withthese people and start the conversation about them locating in the SEAGD service area.

Re: September 2012 Report of Activities
I travelled to Toulouse, France to attend the Speed News Aviation Conference on behalf ofSEAGD September 16-21.I was able to make a number of key contacts in the aviation industry,
specificallythose who supply Airbus and Boeing. There was also a tour of the final ,{380
assembly ilant at Airbus which will be similar to the facility to be constructed in Mobile for the
4320.
On the trip were approximately a dozen Alabama economic developers from across the state,
including Ozarkfiomthe SEAGD service area. The opportunity to interact with them was also
beneficial. Bob Smith from the Alabama Department of Commerce was also in attendance.
One evening, I had a private dinner with two Airbus executives: Olivier Cauquil, Senior Vicepresident of procurement Strategy & Business Operations and Paul Gaskell, Regional Country
Manager. The dinner was arranged by Sam Adcock, Vice President of Governmental Affairs for
Airbus out of Washington, DC. Paul will be the manager of the new Mobile facility and willbemoving to Alabama. Oliri". is in charge of supply chain strategy and is a key contact as we seek
Airbus suppliers in our area. The dinner was very productive and I was able to lay out our
footprint and receirred a commitment that they will work with me/us as they work with their
suppliers on their locations.
I also met with Governor Bob Riley, who now represents Airbus, regarding making sure I am
plugged in at the highest levels with regard to suppliers. We plan a visit to Washington in
November to meet with Airbus officials on that subject.
The Commercial Jet project continues to move forward. I participated in a conference call with
Governor Bentley, Gieg Canfield and David Perry regarding the incentive package the state willoffer. I continue to be a cheerleader for the project and point out the obvious economic and
political benefits created by the successful recruitment of the company. I received a commitment
that the state will provide the necessary incentives.

Re: October 2012 Report of Activities
I continued to work with the Commerce Department and the Governor's Office along withDothan officials on the Commercial Jet project. There were a few hang-ups on both sides, butbelieve they have now been worked out.
I met with Mr. Billy Joe Camp at length and reviewed various prospects and methods ofprospecting. We discussed how we can best compliment each other's efforts and believe we havea solid plan moving forward. Mr. Cam and I also had dinner with Mr. Kim, Eui-Hoon anddiscussed multiple projects in the works and others that can be developed.
Mr. Kim strongly suggested that I travel to South Korea soon to visit with Hankook Tire. This isa very large project that would create over 1000 jobs. Many states are still under considerationbut Mr. Kim believes that my role in government would mean a great deal and put Alabama atthe top of the list if I were to visit. I have also visited with Secretary Canfield with Commerce tomake certain that our area is considered and that we are included in the mix.
I visited with former Governor Bob Riley about a client of his (a former well knowncongressman) who is working for a company looking to expand in the Southeast. The particularsof what they are looking for fits nicely with our service area, especially along I-65. I have spoken
with one of our mayors about a site visit which I am setting up through Governor Riley.
Govemor Riley is also arranging for me to meet with the top U.S. officials with Airbus inWashington to discuss suppliers. I will make that trip in January prior to the legislative session.
I am also working with Commerce to arrange a luncheon with Secretary Canfield and all of theproject managers with the SEAGD Board to send a strong message that we are a player ineconomic development and intend to be included in prospects and projects.

Subject: Generic Agreement
Attachments: Generic Consulting Agreement.docx
Ferrell: Thank you for meeting with me this morning. I am very excited about the opportunity to work with some of your clients and appreciate your assistance. Attached is a generic strategic consulting agreement for business development and sales services which has already been blessed by the Alabama Ethics Commission. It probably goes a bit overboard to protect the Company, but that's probably better than being too vague. As you will see, it specifically prohibits the use of my office for personal gain and states that the scope of work is outisde the borders of the state of Alabama. Please take a look at this and let me know your thoughts. If you think it is too "legal-sounding", we can dumb it down. On another note, I met with Tommy Bice today and talked to him about iTeach. He is reviewing the material and will get back with me on setting up a meeting. I will let you know. Thanks again and let me know what you think about the generic agreement. Thanks again. Mike
