Singapore fashionista crowned as most stylish at Milan Fashion Week

Singapore fashionista Yoyo Cao from Exhibit boutique has won the coveted ‘Golden Peacock’ medal created by New York Maga-zine’s The Cut blog … Tongue-in-cheek, maybe, but a seriously contested title during the all-important Fashion Month … Go SG!

Throughout the bi-annual series of global fashion weeks (the “real” ones of New York, London, Milan and Paris) that’s come to be called “Fashion Month, New York Magazine’s blog, the Cut, ranks all the international street-stylers on their outfits and crowns

the daily best-dressed with the Golden Peacock medal.

Who can resist a mid-length, pleated, gold and black tulle skirt layered with a leather biker jacket, turtleneck, and black suede boots, all of it worn in Paris during fashion week? I love the wild glamour of this look on Yoyo Cao. This is another great street style shot by the talented

YoungJun Koo.

TRAVEL

5) If worst comes to worst, buy it.

Pack the bare minimum, but be prepared to buy what

you need if you forget or can’t pack something. Unless

you’re heading to the middle of nowhere, you will be

able to find whatever it is you’re looking for.

Travel is supposed to be fun. If you’re bogged down

with luggage it can be a real drag. Who likes lugging

suitcases up stairs, escalators, elevators, and around

town? Packing light makes travel simple, so you can

focus on having a good time, and not on how you’re

going to avoid paying airline checked baggage fees.

1) The first step to minimalist travel is to use a smaller

carry on.

If you don’t have enough room to pack all your stuff

you’ll be forced to eliminate the unnecessary.

The biggest benefit of a backpack vs a rolling carry-on

is a backpack is much easier to carry around.

2) No matter how long your trip, pack no more than 3

shirts in neutral colors so everything matches

everything else.

This way you never have to think about what to wear. If

your shirts, pants, and jacket always match you simply

wear whatever is clean. Dark colors are also better for

visible cleanliness reasons. If you spill sauce on light

colored clothing it stands out.

3) Multi-use soap minimizes your liquids considerably.

4) Wash clothes in the sink.

Limiting your clothing to just 3 T-shirts means you’ll

have to do laundry every few days. Wash them in the

bathroom sink and hang them up to dry overnight with

an elastic clothesline.

Searching for romance

Santorini is considered to be the most sought after

place for a romantic getaway in Greece, since there are

not many places in the world where you can enjoy

exquisitely clear waters while perched on the rim of a

massive active volcano in the middle of the sea!

INTERIOR

GO MINIMALISTIC INTERIOR DESIGN

The simplicity of Minimalist Interior Design is what

defines this concept.

With that in mind one of the first things you should do

is have a big clear out. Minimalism is king of clutter free

homes therefore in order for you to get your interior

design ideas right spend some time deciding what to

keep and what to let go.

There are no ifs and buts about minimalism; it is great

space united with interesting furniture and is a style

born from Japanese interior design where everything is

reduced to only its necessary elements.

Adopt the 'Less is more' way of thinking and work with

your mood boards to expand your ideas and create your

unique expression of minimalist interiors.

Color: White is perfect for this concept. Bright, white is

the supremo choice however, off whites will work well

also.

You can add any color to your room but try to work with

only one feature paint color. If you love yellow, go for

yellow or blue or red. As you like, but stick to one.

A neutral palette of beige, gray and wheat will do the

trick so play about with your ideas until you are excited
