WHAT IS MEANT BY WRITING ONE'SOWN TICKET?

    Books b y Rev . W . V . Gran t5041each or all twelve books for' $5.00

Jesus told two people that they had great faith. Both were Gentile people. Both believed for healingat a distance. Both wrote their own tickets, as tohow they would accept healing. Both proved thatyou decree a thing and it shall come to pass (Job22 :28) ; that you may have whatever you say (Mk.11 :23); that it can be unto you even as you want it.Both sought healing, and believed for others!

First, we see that a woman from Canaan asked formercy for her daughter who was vexed with a devil. She asked for mercy and received healing, whichproves that mercy is healing and healing is mercy. (IfHis mercy endure~ forever then His healing mustendure forever!) The disciples wanted to send heraway. I suppose it was because she did not belong totheir group. People today are not so much interestedin people who do not belong to their church.Jesus told this lady that healing is only promisedto the children. Although Jesus did not promise heal-ing to this woman's daughter, she decided that she wasgoing to keep asking until she received it anyway!Itwas she that made that decision, and Jesus met herdemands. She wrote the ticket and Jesus filled it! Herdaughter was delivered! Jesus said, "0 woman, greatis thy faith; be it unto thee even as thou wilt" (Matt.15 :28).If a woman, who is not a child of God, may write

her own ticket and receive healing at a distance, whenhealing is not promised, then we surely can receive'healing, which is the children's bread, according to theScriptures which cannot be broken!

I was traveling along the road and saw many trailersfor rent. You could save money on these "U Haul"trailers, because you could take the trailer off to thewest coast for instance, and leave it. You did not needto return it, for the "U Haul" company out there wasthe same company. You could just leave the trailerwith them. Itis the same way with the Lord. He iseverywhere, on the west coast and on the east coast. What difference does it make?

she had been well five days! She brought her home.Jesus says, "If two of you shall agree on earth astouching anything that they shall ask it shall be donefor them." We were on earth. The woman at the ner-vous hospital was on earth. We agreed. God did it.Six years later I was back in Clovis. That lady cameto me and said her sister was still well.

Wherever I went, in Jerusalem, Rome 'or HongKong, there were people there from America. Theywould pull their credit cards out and sign their name. That was the same as money to the business men. They could buy as well as they could in America. Theircredit was good all over the world. I could pray whileI was in China for something to be done for someonein America. God would honor that ticket I wrote overthere and do things for me in America. There is no dis-. .tance with Him. His arms are not short!

The Nobleman received healing for his son at adistance. I find in the Bible that the woman with theissue of blood did a new thing and said within herself,"If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole." Shewas healed from a killing disease.

Jesus did not say that. She did! She wrote her ownticket. Jesus honored it. Pan American gave me a tickethere. It was honored in Hong Kong. It was the samethe world over! Pan American was there. Pan Ameri-can is here-God is here. God is there-we pray. Heanswers there!

The woman did not pray. In Mark 11:23, Jesus didnot say you could have what you pray. He said thatyou could have what you say.

Yesterday one of the greatest men of God I knowof came from the West Coast and told me that Godhealed at a distance when we wrote our own ticket, aswe were nearly two thousand miles away. The follow-ing is what he told me in his own words. I hope itblesses your soul and body as it did mine:

I am Rev. C. H. Asher. I was pastor of LaMesa Gos-pel Tabernacle in LaMesa, California, for about fouryears and after four years of hard labor, I had aheart failure on June 30, 1958. Not knowing what itwas, I went to our Saturday evening prayer meeting

In Meridian. Mississippi, a lady came into the tentmeeting and asked us to pray for her daughter whowas on the west coast. Since God was no little Godand since He was present in both places, we just askedHim to heal her daughter nearly three thousand milesaway. The next morning that daughter wrote hermother a letter with the hand that had been paralyzedthe day before! She was healed, proving there is nodistance with the Lord.

I wanted to send some money up near the east coast.I learned that I could send that money by telegram ina matter of minutes. Since it was the same companyI could pay the company here and the company therewould immediately pay the mall for me, there on theast coast! It is the same way with the Lord. I wasin Bangor, Maine; Mrs. A. from Hot Springs, Arkan-sas, phoned me and asked me to pray for her husband, who was dying with heart trouble. I told her that wewould pray at 6:00 o'clock Central Standard Time. AtG :00 o'clock God healed her husband and saved him!He left the hospital and is still running his businessafter several years !We wrote th ticket. God acceptedit as we wrote it.

The other person whom Jesus ;.;aid had great faithwas a centurion ill Capernaum, S".:1C people came andtold Jesus that the centurion was worthy because hehad built a synagogue. This Jesus ignored. The cen-t.urion came and told Jesus, that he was not worthy, that his servant was grievously tormented. Jesus said,"I will come and heal him." But the centurion wrote hisown ticket. He decided that he would believe Ior some-thing that had not been written, that had not beenpromised. He was not one of the children. He decidedthat he would believe for healing at a word, at adistance.

Did Jesus rebuke him? No, Jesus commended him. Hemarveled! He said that this centurion had more faiththan anyone in Israel! (Matt. 8:10)

In the meeting in Clovis, New Mexico, a lady cameand asked me to pray for her sister in the nervoushospital. We agreed that she would be healed. Fivedays later she went to see her sister and learned that

and conducted prayer meeting that evening. I preachedSunday morning at the 11 :00 o'clock service and alsothe Sunday evening service, and attended the youthrally Monday evening. Tuesday I had another failureand my good wife, who has stood by me all these years, wanted me to go and be examined by a physician. Ifinally consented, and they had me rushed to one ofthe best hospitals in the San Diego area.

After I was taken there I had thrombosis (heartattack). They had three doctors with me. The doctorsand nurses said I wasn't going to live, but I livedthrough the night. My fingernails and toenails hadturned blue. The doctor told my wife they had bettercall the children. I was not going to be there muchlonger.

I lingered between life and death for three months.Practically all of that time I was under oxygen. Thedoctors said I didn't respond to any kind of medication. After about three months flat on my back lingering 011the border of death, I had my wife call Bro. W. V.Grant in Dallas, Texas to pray for me. He said for usto pray at a certain hour (6 :00 o'clock P.M.). Thatnight I was under the influence of high anesthetic.Normally I would not have awakened until about 4 : 00a.m. But at 1:35, I called my wife and told her theangel of the Lord han appeared to me. He showed memy heart, he said I had a diseased heart, one side of itwas diseased, the other side was healed. He said, "I amhealing your heart." He also said that my ministrywould be teaching, instructing and counseling. He saidfor me not to let anyone raise me up for three daysand nights. They had been raising me up to about a45 degree angle to eat. He said for me to eat lying flaton my back-to eat my bread coated with honey. As hestarted to leave he told me he was the angel of theLord. Oh that was a glorious occasion in my life. Anangelic: visitor from the excellent glory world right bymy bedside, with his healing power and influence. So1 knew that it was a true angel. After three daysobeying the angels orders, I began to gain strength andI have been gaining strength ever since.

Now I am back in the ministry of the Lord Jesus

Christ, endeavoring to tell the people about the loveof Christ, the good news. Oh! Christ's gospel is goodnews to those who are bound in sin. Jesus came to bindthe broken. He is nigh co those who have a contriteheart. Jesus also said on one occasion for us not to letour hearts be troubled, to believe in Him, put our trustand confidence in Him, to rely upon Him and to believeHim! He is the healer of all our diseases. Bless theLord, Oh my soul, who forgiveth all our iniquities andhealeth all our diseases. To those of you who haveheart trouble put your trust in God and read His Wordand take it as a message from God to you. Because init is life and strength. Jesus said "The words that Ispeak to you, they are spirit and they are life." He isthe resurrection and the life. Oh, thank God that JesusChrist is the same yesterday, today and forever.

WHY ARE MOST OF THE PEOPLE WHO AREHEALED PENTECOSTAL PEOPLE?I believe there are a great m.any more people healedwho belong to other groups than there are Pentecos-

tals. They have simple faith. Itseems that they canaccept it easier than many Pentecostals. In Bible times Jesus found that foreigners andstrangers had faith for healing quicker than many ofHis own people. In speaking of the centurion at Ca-pernaum Jesus said that he had faith greater than anyof His people. (Matt. 8 :10). Jesus marveled! We have been made to marvel when we saw peoplefrom many different den-ominations come and receivehealing, while some of our own people had been sickfor years! In the presence of the centurion Jesus said, " ...many shall come from the east and west, and shall sitdown with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the king-dom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shallbe cast out into outer darkness ... "

Speaking to a Gentile woman Jesus said, "0 woman, great is thy faith." (Matt. 15 :28). I don't find whereHe said that to His own. But he said, "0 ye of littlefaith," to one group of disciples.

In our meetings we have seen great numbers of peo-ple from other denominations healed and filled withthe Spirit. In the Philippine Islands Catholic people, some of whom had never been to a Protestant service, seemed to receive their healing much easier than ourpeople. Deaf mutes and diseased people were healedin the audience in the day services.

Teaming thousands of Pentecostals have been healedbut it is amazing to see people healed who have notbeen taught about healing!

Early Christians' ExperiencesPaul went among rank heathen and saw them

healed at a word. It seemed that God used healing asa door etep to salvation, to build men's faith so theycould accept Jesus as their Saviour.

When Peter went to a strange country whole citiesfull of people were healed, which brought the people toa faith in Christ. causing them to turn to the Lord(Acts 9: 35) .

Philip went t.o other people which were not of hisdenomination and saw them receiving healing by themultitudes (Acts 8). This caused a great revival tobreak out in the City of Samaria.

Paul was fighting divine healing with all his heart. In three days, even before he was in a healing meeting,he was healed of blind eyes.

Faith Comes By HearingGod will not let His Word return void. No Word ofGod is without power. God will hasten His Word to

perform it. Faith comes by hearing if that hearingis according to the Word of God. Faith leaves by hear-ing some negative reports. That is why we should makeknown His deeds among the people.

Blind Bartimaeus heard about divine healing andmade his way to Jesus. He received his sight. Naamanheard about healing and made his way to Elisha. Hewas healed of leprosy.

A little Baptist lady heard about what was going onin our meeting. She asked to be brought to service. Sher, rose from a chair in which she had been sitting morethan ten years. She is still healed! Itwas her firsttime ever to be in a full gospel meeting.

    -6-

In our last meeting it was noticed that the presenceof God was in our midst to heal. A Baptist lady broughther teenage son, who had been a deaf mute from birth. He was perfectly healed so he could hear and speak.

A Catholic man who was a deaf mute could hear andtalk after prayer.

In St. John, New Brunswick a teenage girl wasbrought from an unbelieving family. She had been adeaf mute all her life. After prayer she could heara watch tick with either ear. She was playing the pianowhen I saw her last. In the same meeting another deafmute was healed so she could hear a watch with eitherear. She came back night af'ter night and testified. She received the Holy Ghost.

An Angelican lady rose from her wheel chair andwalked. A lady who was 11 Jehovah Witness received amarvelous healing and received the Holy Ghost Bap-tism.

When you come for healing God does not look atyour denomination. IIe looks at the attitude of yourheart. It is not who you are, but who Jesus is thatcounts.

The eyes of the Lord are now running to and frothroughout all the earth, 110t just one church, to showHimself to those whose hearts are in the right attitudetoward Him.

IS IT REALLY RIGHT FOR A MAN TO GO TOA TOWN AND TELL WHAT TOOK PLACE UNDERHIS MINISTRY IN ANOTHER TOWN? IS THATBOASTING?

Jesus referred to His ministry in other towns. "AndHe said unto them, 'Ye will surely say unto me thisproverb, physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we haveheard done in Caperriaum, do also here in thy coun-try'." Luke 4 :23.

This is not the only time that Jesus mentioned whattook place in His ministry elsewhere. He mentioned themighty works which had been done in Chorazin andBethsaida. Luke 10 :13. He pronounced judgment onJerusalem because she resisted His miracles. He spokevery freely of His miracles in John, chapters 6, 7 and

    8. He said, "The works that I do bear witness that Iam from God." Then again, "Believe Me for the work'ssake."Jesus taught us not to put our light under a bushel, but on a candle stick, so that all who are in the housemay see the good works and glorify God. The Word ofGod declares, "Make known His deeds among the peo-ple." We are commanded to speak of His wonderfulworks.

Jesus told the man who was delivered from devilswho dwelt among the tombs, "Go home and tell yourfriends." Mark 5 : 30. Some people will publish all thefailures they can hear about, but they don't believe inpeople publishing the miracles that take place. Whilethe unbelievers are publishing what God did not do,the believers should be publishing what God did do.Of course, Jesus did tell a few people not to tell somethings until He arose from the dead. That was so Hecould finish His ministry without too much opposition. But after that the first words He said were, "Go andtell." People must have been telling the good news eversince. The Gospel is good news. What God did not dois bad news. Some people are doubt builders, whileothers are faith builders.

Paul Told What God Had Done Through HisMinistry in Other Towns"Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave au-

dience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miraclesand wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles bythem." Acts 15:12.Paul was not content to tell these things by mouth. He sent messengers throughout the country telling thepeople what God was doing, I am sure that he gaveconsent for Luke to write the whole book of Acts, which tells of the mighty way the Lord worked throughPaul as he went from revival to revival-from city tocity, and from country to country.

In another place Paul wrote, "And my speech andmy preaching was not with enticing words of man'swisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and ofpower." I Cor. 2 :4. Then again, "But I will come to youshortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech

of them which are puffed up, but the power." I Cor.4:19. Again we read, "Whereunto I also labour, striv-ing according to his working, which worketh in memightily." Col. 1 :29. Again Paul is heard saying, "ForHe that wrought effectually in Peter to the Apostleshipof the circumcision, the same was mighty in me towardthe Gentiles."The reason Paul could freely speak of the miracleworking power of God in these verses, and many others, was that he laid no claim to the power as being his.Had he claimed the power as his own, then he couldhave been a little shy. Rather he declared the wonder-ful works of God. Did you ever stop to consider thefact that it might be pride that wants the natural manto stand back, because of public opinion, and dodgecriticism of the unbelievers by being "polite", andkeeping quiet about these things. while the unbelieversare busy telling what the devil is doing? No, we arecommanded to make known His deeds among thepeople. This we will do, by the grace of God!Peter felt free to tell what God did through hisministry. Acts 15 : 7-8.

IS THE HEALING REVIVAL TAPERING OFF?Yes it seems to be in some places, but in other, . .localities it is better than ever before. So It was m

Bible days.In some countries the supernatural became so com-mon men ignored signs, miracles and wonders. Jesus

and the apostles withdrew from some towns and placeda curse of God upon them. Those towns were left deso-late. They sinned against the Spirit of God.We also stood on the spot where Jesus looked outover the City of Jerusalem; where He stretched outHis hand and said, "0 Jerusalem, Jerusalem ... Be-hold your house is left unto you desolate." (Matt.23 :27-38) Since then men have tried to rebuild thetemple and failed. In one or more cases balls of firecame down from Heaven and frightened the men awaywho tried to build it.

It seems that a city can sin against God, or sin away-9-

its day of grace, as well as an individual. It will bebetter for Sodom and Gomorrah at the Day of Judge-ment than for some people who have rejected thesupernatural. The people of Nineveh shall rise injudgment and condemn the generation that shut theireyes to the miracles in Jesus' day. (Matt. 12:41, Luke11) They bordered on the unpardonable sin. How shallwe escape if we neglect this great salvation, which issigns, miracles, wonders and Spiritual gifts? (Heb.2 :4) Men do not need to murder, lie and rob, they canjust ignore t.he supernatural move of God, then theservant of God shall shake the dust of his feet off asa testimony against them. Hitler will be ahead of themat the JUdgment.

When this happens God's servants willGo to the Next Town

There they will be accepted. Itwas the same way inthe ministry of Peter, Paul, Jesus and all the NewTestament preachers. Paul would turn from wholecities after he preached to them the final message ofjudgment. (Act 13:46) Then he went to another citywhere he saw real revival. When people saw the super-natural in evidence they turned to God by the multi-tude. Whole cities turned to God.

Peter "shook the dust" against one city as a testi-mony against them. When he went to the next city hehad results. Two whole cities turned to the Lord. (Acts9 :35) Healing the sick and casting out devils is stillthe only answer for revival.

To some groups of people theMiracles Become Common

You remember a few years ago. When someonereceived the baptism of the Holy Ghost, people wouldclimb benches to see the person receive the experience. In many places today a person may receive this glor-ious experience and some members of the church neverhear about it.

It is the same with healing and miracles. In somecities people have healing meetings the year around. The only people who are attracted are visitors fromdistant places, drawn by advertising.

The Beaten PathThere are certain cities to which deliverance men go.

Thousands of other cities, they skip for various reas-ons. When they go to new cities they see the sameinterest as they did in other towns at the beginningof this outpouring.

At this writing I am in Cove, Arkansas. There are.about as many under the tent as the town has popula-.tion. I guess there are more seats outside of the tentthan there are inside. They are all full and many peopleare standing and sitting in cars.

A woman could not find her goiter last night afterprayer. A high official's wife became a believer whenshe saw a girl healed of crossed-eyes. Several deaf earswere opened. A crippled lady walked out of the tentwithout her crutches and returned. to the service with-out them. Men were stirred just as they were whenthe healing reveival first came to your town.

IS IT NOT BETTER TO HAVE A SOUL SAVINGREVIVAL AND NOT MENTION HEALING, MIRA-CLES, AND CASTING OUT DEVILS, WHICH ARELESS IMPORTANT?

It takes all the parts to make the whole. Ifyou don'thave all the parts you don't have the whole. How canyou have the major if you are not willing to have theminor? If you are not faithful in the least then youwould also be unfaithful in much. At least you shouldhave the least.

Peter Had A New Testament RevivalWhen men saw the lame man walk at the Beautiful

Gate, about five thousand people turned to the Lord. They were all filled with the Holy Ghost. (Acts 4:30).

When people saw a man walk for the first time ineight years two whole cities turned to the Lord (Acts9:42).

When God raised a woman from the dead it wasknown throughout Joppa. Many believed in the Lord.(Acts 9 :42).

Peter knew of no other way. That was what he wastaught. That was what he saw for over three years inthe school of actual experience. Jesus had said, "Theworks that Ido shall ye do also." (John 14:12).

We know of no other way to have a Biblical revival. We are in the New Testament days now. This is thesame dispensation in which Peter and John lived.

The Book of Acts is really the Acts of the HolySpirit. God used other men than the Apostles. There isno amen at the end of Acts. Perhaps it should end with:1 comma; a comma shows that there is more coming.

Holy Ghost. (Acts 19:1-6). In fact Paul was not satis-fied for any Christian to fall short of the Holy GhostBaptism. (1 Cor. 14:5). That is the normal New Testa-ment experience. His people came behind in no gift.

Philip Had a New Testament RevivalPhilip was not an apostle. lIe may not have had

license to preach. But he had a great revival in Sa-maria. Remember those people down there in 'Samariawere not of his denomination, but he had a great city-wide revival down there, anyway. Unclean spirits cameout of people who were possessed. Many people werehealed of many kinds of diseases.

Paul Also Had a New Testament RevivalAlthough public opinion was against him; although

it brought persecution down upon his head, Paul, un-der the anointing of the Holy Spirit, discerned an evilspirit in a fortunteller and cast out that Spirit. She had brought much money in for her employers. Sopublic opinion caused these pioneer preachers to beput in jail. (Acts 16).

This girl followed them around each day and testifiedthat these ministers were sent of God. Had she madethis same "confession" in some modern day so-calledrevivals she would have been declared a convert andperhaps made a charter member. Paul did not declareher a convert until she was delivered from devils. Shewas not taken in on mere confession. He refused topopulate the church with those people who had con-fessed and did not possess. A great revival followedthe miracle. The size of the crowd was not what madethe revival; it was the size of Paul's God, who mademen free from the power of sin.

Even John the Baptist did not take people in onmere confession, or by statement, or by decision, or bybaptism, or by letter. He required them to prove thatthey had repented by bringing forth fruits. "By theirfruits ye shall know them." A good tree does not bearevil fruit.

Two of Paul's workers explained to John's disciplesthe way of the Lord more perfectly: (Acts 18). ThenPaul laid his hands on them and saw them receive the

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF CANCER?There is a cause, for God says, ... "The curse cause-

less shall not come." (Prov. 26 :2)The report on the news says that a test of four

hundred and twenty men in one hospital proves thatcigarettes cause cancer. Another report says that acertain chemical in cranberries causes cancer. Certaincommentators contend that chemicals in celery andother crops cause cancer. A certain clergyman chargesthat chemicals in charcoal-broiling', Coca-Colas, chlo-rine in water or caffein in coffee cause cancer. Othersclaim that certain chemicals in chicken skin causecancer. For years we have been warned that cancer comesas a direct result of worry, want, despondency, dis-couragement, trouble, tenseness, oppression, depressionand fear. All these open the door to this enemy of man-kind. The Curse of Cancer

The truth is that cancer is an enemy that comes intoman's body when his resistance is broken down. "Hethat hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city thatis broken down, and without walls." (Prov. 25:28)

Anything that breaks down your spirit of resistanceopens the door for the enemy of man to enter. Thewater of the Mississippi River is ready to flood thevaluable Mississippi Delta and destroy the crop if thelevy is broken.

Communism comes in to destroy Christianity with-out a just cause if our national defense is weakened.Cancer is like Communism. It stands ready to comeinto any crack that is made in your constitution oryour defense.

because it cannot receive any strength. Ithad taken itsfood through its roots. Now the roots are cursed-thecancer starves.Jesus is now saying, "Behold, J give you power totread on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL thepower of the enemy: and noth ing shall by any meanshurt you."We can't continually cite the cause, but we can hecertain that Christ. curses and cures cancer by theCrucifixion on the cruel Cross of Calvary.

The Cure of CancerWe may not always put our finger on the same cause

of each case of cancer, but we know the cure for thiscurse.Faith in God and in His Word was a sure cure forKing Hezekiah when he had the cruel killer. He turnedhis face to the wall and set his house in order. Thecompassion of Christ in him caused the cruel cancerto be cured.

Faith will drive out worry, fear, discouragement, despondency, despair, doubts, habits and rebellion, forfaith is the stronger force. Faith will bind up thebroken heart and build the crumbled walls!

When faith moves in, fear moves out, as the sunthat drives away the darkness of night. Faith bringsjoy, peace, contentment, praise, rest, relaxation, con-fidence and courage. When the walls of resistance arerebuilt the deadly disease can no longer put its uglyhead inside the temple of God.

Cancer is strong, but "when a stronger than he shallcome upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from himall his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth hisspoils." (Luke 11:22)

Just in our last meeting' a report came of a pastor'swife we prayed for, who was dying with a cruel cancer. After prayer she returned to her doctor and found thatthere was no trace of the trouble.

Christ Cures CancerWhen Christ placed a curse on the roots of the fig

tree the disciples could see no difference at that mo-ment, but the fig tree died. Itwithered from the roots! When Christ curses the roots of that cancer it mustwither and die! It can't live without roots.

The physician does all he can. He says that yourbody is starving to death because the cancer is eatingup all your strength. Godsays that after He curses thecancer it withers and dies. For it starves to death,

ARE HEALING TESTIMONIES EVER VERIFIEDBY DOCTORS' STATEMENTS?

Ihad pus in the bones of my legs for about twenty-six years. Some friends had the same trouble and died. After Iwas prayed for the doctor examined me andsaid that Idid have the trouble. but it was gone!I try. not to double back and hold a revival in thesame places very much, but we have just finished. a

revival in Vidor, Texas where we have been before infive series. At least three people testified that they hadbeen healed in our former services. Each of them hadgone back to their doctor who could not find the oldtrouble. They gave unsolicited testimonies.

One was a baby Iremembered so well. Ithad a holein its heart. The doctors said that it could not live; ifit did it would be a spastic baby. After we prayed forit the doctor examined it and declared that the holewas gone! He was amazed!Another was a testimony of a man, who could notbreathe without an oxygen tank with him at all times. After prayer he went back to his doctor for an exam-ination. The doctor was so amazed that he could notsay anything for five minutes. He wrote a letter say-ing that the man could go back to work. After fiveyears he is still free from the old trouble. . .An Assembly of God pastor's wife was dying WIthcancer. The doctors said that she could not live. Afterprayer she .went back and had the doctor examine her.He could not find the cancer. These three testimonies came in our last meeting

Then suddenly 1 felt God healing somethingelse in his body. "I am not sure, but I believe it's bloodpressure," 1 said. "Do you not have low blood pres-sure?" He said that he did not know. I felt that Godhad healed him.

The next night this mall returned and told that hewent back and checked ~lis records and found that hedid have low blood pressure. He was examined againand it was gone! It is on the government record. Hehad the low blood pressure before prayer. He did nothave it after prayer.

In the third chapter of Acts we see a record of adoctor's statement. Doctor Luke examined a man andsaid that he did not have any strength in his anklebones. After Peter ministered healing to the man, Doc-tor Luke said that he received strength in his anklebones and began to leap and walk. In chapter fourteenz . man was healed also. Doctor Luke said he had neverwalked. Then he said, after the man was healed, thathe could walk! It was Paul and Peter who ministeredhealing to these cripples by God's power, and not Lukewith his medicine kit.

He told the disciples to feed the people lest they fallby the wayside. The little boy was delivered. Who did the fasting? Itwas Jesus who had already done the fasting in the

wilderness. Itwas there that He received the victoryover the devil; He came out victorious; with the anoint-ing to set the captives free. This did not mean that Hehad to stop and go on a long fast each time someonewas delivered. He had received the power while He wason the fast in the wilderness. It is not the real sickly, nervous, fearful type personthat Jesus tells to go on a long fast; one who feels likeshe is sinning by eating or sleeping. Goel wants to give

His beloved sleep and food. It is the man or womanwith a strong, healthy body that should go on a longfast. The fast breaks down the resistance and rebellion. The body is buffeted and brought under subjection, soyou can be temperate in all things. In this way theSpirit can take control and anoint you for the ministryof deliverance.

The Lord does not require a "hen pecked" husbandto go on a long fast. A man with a nagging wife seldomcan fast and pray; they can't give themselves continu-ally to the Word of God and prayer as did the apostles. His wife will continually say, "Carry me to the beautyshop", "Come give this baby a bath", "Go get a loaf ofbread", "Run back and get some ice", "Make some tea","Now run visit that old brother and see how he isdoing", "Come fry some meat", "Carry me for a week'svisit to my mother in another state". If you have a wifelike that you must decide whether you are going toplease your wife 01' please the Lord.

A good wife is to be commended. They are respon-sible for the great ministry which God has given theirhusband. They are like the third verse in a song; theyare often left out. He that gets a good wife gets a goodthing; he that gets not a good wife gets a thing.

The Lord does not expect us to leave the otherundone. The Pharisees fasted. Jesus said, "This you shouldhave done and not leit the other undone." We mustbring up all the loose ends. Itwill do little good to fast

    -17-

WHO MUST GO ON A LONG FAST?The Lord would seldom require a sick person to go on

a long fast. The disciples failed to deliver a little af-flicted boy from evil spirits. Jesus came along anddelivered the boy and healed him. The disciples askedwhy they could not deliver the boy. Jesus told themthat kind came out only by prayer and fasting (Mark9) .

Who should have done the fasting, the little sick boyor Peter? It was the strong and husky Apostle Peterwho should have done the fasting, and not the afflictedboy. We don't read in the Bible that Jesus told the sickpeople to fast, but we do read that He raised them upand commanded that they be given something to eat.

The Dishonest Unbelieversthe Lord refused to work miracles. He knew that theywould not believe after they had seen a miracle. Godrefused to raise Lazarus from the dead just to proveHis power to unbelievers. He said they would not be-lieve after they saw a miracle of raising the dead(Luke 16:31). Several years later another Lazarus wasraised from the dead. The religious leaders of that daybecame so angry that they killed Jesus and wanted tokill Lazarus (John 12:10). Even then Jesus raisedLazarus because He loved him (John 11:36), and notjust to accept a challenge from religious leaders.

King Herod challenged Jesus to perform a miracle.Jesus did not perform a miracle to prove that He could(Luke 23:8), not even to free Himself. Had Jesusbeen performing miracles to prove that He had powerto do so, He would not have put the unbelievers out ofthe house when He wanted to perform a special miracle(Mark 5:37).

Healing is the children's bread OVIatt. 15 :26). Amother gives her children bread not to prove she haspower to do so; she feeds her children because sheloves them; she has the mother nature. God doesthings for His children because He is merciful, truth-ful, and has a father nature. Numerous times we seethat Jesus healed people because He was moved withcompassion, not to accept a challenge. (Mark 1:41)

Elijah did not accept a challenge when he called firedown from heaven and proved the power of God to anation. He threw out the challenge. Jesus, the apostles,or any of the early Christians did not perform miraclesin answer to a challenge. They did not go about accept-ing challenges; They threw out the challenge. Whenthe Holy Spirit led Brother Branham to throw out achallenge for the antichrist group to heal a blind man,He stood behind that challenge and healed the blindman, when they failed. As a result thousands gavetheir heart to God!

In the healing of Naaman it was Elisha who threwout the challenge (II Kings 5 :8). Naaman was not adishonest unbeliever throwing out, challenges to prove

unless you do the other things which prepare you fora deliverance ministry.

Some people quit chewing tobacco, hut they still"chew the rag". Some people pay the preacher but theywon't pay the grocerman. Some talk to the Lord, butthey still talk about their neighbor. Why do you callHim Lord, Lord, and do not the things I-Iesays? Youmay overcome the crave for food, but have you con-quered the crave for foolishness, wine, women, andmoney? Are you fasting for a selfish reason, or pub-licity; then why do you tell people that you are on aten day fast? Itis guod to fast if you do not leave theother undone.

The Lord does not call a liar on a long fast. He mustfirst repent of his lies before he receives a deliveranceministry. Some people gad about, telling people theyare on a thirty day fast when they are not., They feelfree to drink Coca Colas, fresh buttermilk, eat pie, vegetables, and whatever they crave. They still saythey fasted thirty days. They should tell the truth.Dieting is not Biblical fasting. They have the wrongmotive. All their works they do to be seen of men. They have their reward. God won't reward them.Rather He will punish them for lying. You pray, butask amiss; you want to consume it upon your own lust."Let not that man think that he will receive anythingof the Lord."

churches, and he did not want them mixing with anyother groups.

A preachers wife said, "Jim and I raised this churchup for our own special benefit; I don't want anyone else'fooling' with it."

Another pastor said, "I am here for only one purpose, and that is to build a church for my denomination."That is fine, but the first purpose should be to buildfor Jesus and win souls.

Elisha told a widow woman, who was deeply in debt,to borrow some vessels - not a few. As long as thevessels lasted the supernatural miracle-working poweroperated. When the oil stopped flowing he told her thathad she brought more vessels more would have beenfilled. The power will continue to operate as long as wehave vessels to fill. If you are only interested in yourgroup; if no one is brought in who needs to be saved, filled or healed, you will see no deliverance.

God has promised to give us an apostolic ministryif we carry this gospel to every nation. (Matt. 28:20)This power is not promised to an isolated group whichis content to keep the gospel fenced in - one group ora "chosen few", they must have a vision to win ALLthe world for Christ.

Thousands of pastors spend thousands of dollars foradvertising on television, radio and newspaper. Theyhave a burden for people regardless if they are mem-bers', relatives or strangers. They are willing to winsouls even if the converts become members of otherchurches.

An old bear will fight for her cubs. An old hen willfight for her chickens. An old cow will defend her calf.Anyone will pray for his own children or his own de-nomination, but the love of God will cause us to try towin people who are not our own relatives.

God has promised to redeem our bodies if we carrythe gospel to all the world. If we preach the gospel to ALL the world then theend will come. The power that raised Jesus from the

dead will quicken our bodies. (Matt. 24:14) The Gospelof the Kingdom must first be published to all theworld.

his religion. He was an honest sufferer seeking mercyand compassion.

    There are someHonest Unbelievers

Thomas was an unbeliever, but he was not blindedbv prejudice. When he saw a miracle he believed.P.rejudice came from the word prejudged. Phariseessay, "If I see it 1won't believe." God slayed some relig-ious people because they did 1I0t believe after they sawmiracles (Heb. 3 :9-17).

To the dishonest unbelievers Goo did not performany miracles of healing. To one He performed a miracleof judgment. and struck him blind for a season. (Acts13:11). Paul turned them over to Satan for the de-struction of the flesh (1 Tim. 1 :19, II Tim. 2 :18) thatthey might learn not to blaspheme.

They denied the message of the resurrection power, saying that it was past away. That is the same thingas people denying the message of miracles and healing. For Jesus IS the resurrection and the LIFE.

HOW CAN I HAVE A SUPERNATURAL MINISTRY?God has promised'{these signs" will follow our min-

istry if we preach the gospel to all the world. Peoplewill be healed, devils will be cast out, the gifts will bemanifested and men will receive the Holy Ghost. Wewill have power over serpents, poison and over all thepower of the enemy. (Mark 16:15-17) These signs arenot promised to people who are not interested incarrying the gospel to ALL the world-those who onlywant to keep it betv..een four walls.

One pastor told me that he did not want to advertisethe revival. He said he was not interested in anyonecoming except his own members. One of his membersbecame sick. He told his congregation to pray that shewould "bow submissively to God's will, and that shewould resign herself to death." He did not once men-tion her healing.

One pastor recently said that he wanted a revival, but he had a "higher class" of people than the other

once each year; it is not only the one who first gets insome water, but it is any day and any hour in the yearwhen one is willing to be made whole. 1 t.hey onlyknew it they could rise and walk now."

This is the way we should work in many cases. Afterpeople accept Christ as their healer, then they willlisten to our message and accept Him as their Saviour.

Many ministers go about building doubt. They tellthe sinner that Jesus will not heal them unless theyfirst get saved. God's plan is this: "And the prayer offaith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise himup; and if he have committed sins, they shall be for-given him." (James 5:15).

In service one night I went back to ask a lady if shewould go and be saved. She motioned to me and let meknow that she could not hear me, for she was deaf. Ifirst prayed for her to be healed. When she saw thatshe could hear a whisper, then she gladly surrenderedto the Lord. It was easy for her then.Recently, in Minneapolis, a man came into thehealing service who was an alcoholic. He had somedisease which made his hands shake all the time. Weprayed. When he saw that he was healed he surren-dered his life to the Lord. He was saved for the firsttime in his life, and testified that his hands were per-fectly still. The audience could see it! The man reportedthat he was delivered from alcohol. Had I told himthat he could never be healed until he was first savedperhaps his faith would never have risen high enoughto be delivered from alcohol.

Jesus even healed His enemy while He was beingarrested in the Garden. If He would heal His enemy,He certainly would heal one of His children. Look upand believe Him!

A lady came to Jesus asking for healing for herdaughter. Jesus started to preach her a message ondispensations, telling her that her time had not yetcome. She kept asking and showed so much faith thatJesus said, by His actions, "Dispensations or no dis-pensations, your daughter will be healed!" Althoughher daughter was not one of the "children," she washealed anyway. Such is the mercy of Jesus Christ. He

One pastor told his young people who wanted towin souls in street services and tent meetings that"The hospital is the place for people to be born, andnot out 011 the street." He seemed to think that ifsomeone were born outside of his church he was anillegitimate child, and the gospel would be adulterated,so he finally trained his young people to have skatingparties instead of street meetings.

A certain man made a great supper. (Luke 14 :16)People refused to come. The Lord said unto the ser-vant, "Go out into the highways and hedges and com-pel them to come." The Lord is preparing the MarriageSupper in the air. His chosen ones will be there shutaway' from the "wrath without mixture." He is say-ing, "Call the poor, maimed, lame and blind." We arenow in that day. That is why the love of God con-strains us to go even :to the uttermost parts of theearth, to a people of a strange language, and risk ourlives to help prepare these precious people for Hiscoming. We go. That is why He confirms the Word withsigns following.

MUST ONE BE SAVED IN ORDER TO BE HEALED?Not every time. In fact, there were many sinners

healed in Bible times. If you believe that one cannotbe healed until he is saved, then according to yourfaith, be it unto you. God will not answer your prayerand heal you while at the same time you are believingthat He will not do it.

The Bible says that the goodness of God leads mento repentance. That is why the Lord is good to people; He wants to lead them to repentance.

Jesus healed a man at the pool of Betheseda oneday, who had been crippled for thirty-eight years. Hedid not ask him if he was saved or not saved: He onlyasked him, "Wilt thou be made .whole?" Had the restof them been willing He would have healed them also.We were on the spot a few months ago where Jesusmet this man and healed him. We stood and looked atthe pool where the angel came and troubled the watereach year. The thought came to mind. "It is not only

is the same yesterday, today and forever.A centurion at Caperriaum came to the Lord for His

servant's healing. Jesus did not say, "This is not therigh t dispensation for that. It will come at anothertime." Jesus did not say, "You cannot receive healingf'or your servant because you are not a Christian." No,Jesus said, in effect. "You have more faith than anyof my people." And He did not withhold healing- fromthe man.Jesus told us to take His place. We should first ad-minister divine healing to the sick and suffering anddying, then they will have confidence in a merciful andcompa 'onate Christ. They will believe in Him andwant to serve Him. The goodness of God will lead themto repentance.

A minister may become bald because his hair sheds. That does not mean a man with no baldness should becritical of him, or that you should not allow him topray for you. Likewise with a man who has gray hair. You may as well ask God to turn gray black again as toask Him to give you young eyes after they are wornout. It is possible for God to give you black hair, after itturns gray; give you a third set of teeth; replace a

kidney or bone after it has been taken out; stop thesun, causing time to stand still as in the case ofHezekiah.

You would not refuse to let a man with a cork legpray for you. God would not refuse to answer theprayer of a man with one arm. The Lord has. promisedtc heal all manner of sickness and all manner of di-sease. (Psalms 103:1-3) He has promised to forgiveall our sins and heal all our disease. He may not al-ways raise the dead, or restore an arm, give you a newset of teeth or give you black hair in place of yourgray hair.

One preacher came about four hundred miles to beprayed for. He was very disappointed because his eyeswere not healed. I talked to him and told him that hewas not sick or diseased. This caused the worry andfear to leave. People were healed. Later he came to ourmeeting. God gave him a new set of eyes. He discardedhis glasses. So it is according to your faith. God willgive you a new set of eyes or fill your teeth, if youcan believe.

Brother Petty, in Houston, rolled in a wheel chairand prayed for the sick several years while he pastoredh church. People were healed and saved as they felldown around that wheel chair. That did not mean thatGod did not want to heal him. Later he came to ourrevival in Houston and was healed. Now he is shoutingthe victory on those legs, and still praying for the sick.I had the flu when I was in a revival in West Monroe. At night I got out of bed and went to church. I prayedfor people who were sick, and they were healed eventhough I was as sick as they were. I knew of a manwho pastored a church who had a hernia. Many people

DO YOU THINK PREACHERS WHO WEARGLASSES SHOULD PRAY FOR THE SICK?You may as well ask if a preacher with a filling in his

tooth should pray for the sick. At a certain age somepeople lose their teeth. Some people lose them earlierin life than others do. Itdepends on the race and stockof people. Would you refuse to let a man pray for youwho has a filling in his tooth, or a tooth missing?

Foolish! you say, but it is no more foolish than theauestion that you asked about the man who wearsglasses praying for the sick. It is normal for a man'seyes to grow dim at a certain time in life. There is noriiff'erence in a man with dim eyes praying for the sickthan a man who has a missing tooth. It is just as greata miracle for God to give the third set of teeth as it isfor God to give a man young eyes again after his eyesare worn out.

You may as well ask if a man with gray hair shouldpray for the sick. Should a preacher with a bald headpray for the sick? At a certain age people's hair turnsgray. Some of them at an earlier age than others. If1 happen to be of a stock of people whose hair does notturn gray until late in life, I should not criticize theman whose hair turns gray at an early age. I may notbe any more righ teous than he.

(Exodus 20 :4). The Three Hebrew Children refusedto bow down to an image. The miracle that God workedwas to protect these saints and save their lives fromthe fire. In the last days the devil will give life to animage (Rev. 13). God will perform miracles to quickenour mortal bodies and deliver us from the tribulations. He will destroy millions of dollars worth of images(Rev. 18), and deliver us from the religious people indarkness and superstition who will try to kill, thinkingthey are doing God a service. If it were possible Satanwill deceive the very elect by his signs and wonders(Matt. 24 :24), but thank God, it is not possible. Satancomes to deceive and destroy. Jesus comes to savemen's lives and save their souls (Luke \) :56).

God anointed Jesus to heal all those who were op-pressed of the devil. God anoints men to do the sametoday. The Lord's main purpose is not to performmiracles (some miracles do not prove anything). Themiracles that God wants to perform is to deliver peoplefrom sin, sickness, pain, evil spirits, darkness andsuperstition-to let the oppressed go free!

When we were in India we saw tons of literature onthe side walk, put there by the Communists. Overthirty per-cent of all the literature in India teachesCommunism. Itwas printed there in that nation. Thegovernment there gives top priority to education. Thepeople there can't afford to buy books; the Commu-nists are taking advantage of this. They make theirbrags that they have taken China by the printed page. They say if they can take India they can take theworld.

We receive many letters saying that these peoplecannot buy our books, since they cannot senti moneyout of the country. But they have all the Communistbooks given to them free. At a small cost we can shipthem books teaching the true gospel. Now our moneycan buy books, but money can't buy back time thatwe are losing.

The Jehovah Witness people have the largest print-ing presses in the world. They run day and night. Theysend forth their message in scores of different lan-guages. They won six thousand people in South Africain one day because they spread their doctrine with theprinted page in advance. We have a press that willprint one hundred thousand pages per hour. \\'c aresending our books to South Africa which teach thetrue doctrine. We expect to follow them and see whath'~l)pens.

Theyshoot "arrows, even arrows of bitter words", (Psalms64 :2-3). We must hit when the iron is hot and wherethe iron is hot. Itwill soon cool off!

We are now moving into the dead center of ourWorld Crusade for Souls. The emphasis is laid mainlyon a vast literature program for world evangelization.A million souls each week learn to read. We don't ask,"Will they read T" We are asking "What are theygoing to read?" If we don't give them something toread the false cults will. Our missionaries have taughtthe people to read. The Communists are giving themthe literature to read.

the audience. She rejoiced about it.. The audiencerejoiced with her. Another lady testified that her can-cer was gone. A lady could not find her growth. Alady's tumor was gone!

Then faith rose high. People were healed in theaudience. Many were healed by walking through a fastline. Many people were delivered from sin in theaudience.

There are advantages to services like that.More people may be ministered to in one service. Many people from distant towns, cities and states,

who can't stay a long time, who are not financiallyable to stay for days, may receive help.

This saves time, so we can give more attention tothe ones who need to be saved.

In this way people may receive healing while theanointing is heavy and fresh.More people will be healed than if we dealt with eachone individually. The evangelist will last longer if he does not wearaway his strength.God can heal a thousand as easily as He can heal ten. Then there are many people who do not want the

public to know about their ailments. They may behealed while the anointing is high, in the fast line, orin the audience.

WHAT IS THE FAITH CLINIC?Arrangements are now being made to translate one

I have prom-ised to send a very large shipment of books this monthwhich are written in the English language. These areto prepare the way for our trip in September. In manydifferent languages around the world these faith-build-ing books are being translated at the present moment. We have over two million in print here among theEnglish speaking people. -31-

We want the international literature drive to goright along with our city-wide revivals. The hands ofpeople whose minds and souls are hungry are reachingout to you. "Give ye them to eat" (Luke 9 :13). "TheLord gave the word: great was the company of thosethat published it" (Psalms 68:11).

The demands are increasing for our publications inthe Native language. Three billion and four hundredmillion dollars each year are spent by the Communists('11 the printed page. That is cheaper than bombers, tanh. rockets, planes, and building back the ruinedcities, They want the cities just as they are. They havestolen Cod's plan. Il is figured that a soul can be won for fourteencents by the printed page. When public services are"lopped bv the governments the "printed preachers"vet proclaim the message of deliverance.
