Performance Indicators Proactively identify service gaps and inform Manager Work collaboratively with other support agencies and mainstream services in regard to the needs of the client Claim authorisations are entered into appropriate Vicdeaf systems Case notes are appropriately recorded in timely manner Mandatory reporting achieved in timely manner
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (critical for successful performance in the role)
Knowledge and understanding of Deaf and hard of hearing issues, including social, linguistic and educational impacts of deafness. Awareness of relevant technologies and assistive devices Experience working with people who have complex support needs Auslan competency or experience with communicating with people with a hearing loss Time management skills Commitment to the rights of people with disabilities Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team Show discretion (respect) and strict confidentiality
Qualifications / Certifications / Memberships (essential to the role) Certificate IV Community Services/Disability Studies; other relevant qualification, or life experience

Current driver’s licence (desirable –not compulsory). Working with Children Check (E)
Travel Frequency (Regular, Infrequent, Rare) Frequency of travel will vary based on the needs of the person being supported.
