HiPPY Mission sTaTeMenT

HIPPY partners with parents to prepare their children for success in school.

The HIPPY program put me at ease. My son is not only ready for kindergarten, but he is exceeding expectations in all subjects and areas academically according to his scores done by the Head Start Center. I am thankful for HIPPY, and all of our many home visitors that we’ve had that took their time with us. My son loves learning, and often asks, “Mommy, can we do my school stuff?”

I love the fact that everything was hands on. We got to meet other families at the group meetings/events, and we were able to complete the activities with items in my own home.

Three years went by so fast! Thank you to everyone that works with HIPPY. If no one has told you, know that you all are appreciated!

— Lorreka Burton, Pinellas HIPPY Mother

HIPPY WORKS!!

I am very passionate about education, and when I was younger I was always told that

once you learn something it can never be taken away from you. I wanted to give my children the opportunity to learn everything there is to learn, and to experience life in its entirety.

I will never forget the day that I found a HIPPY flyer while checking out books at our local library. Before my son was even able to be a part of HIPPY, I called to set him up in advance. We started this program in November of 2013. I knew from then on that this would be the best thing for both of us. I wanted to teach my son everything he would need to know, especially to be prepared for kindergarten. My worry was that because his birthday is late according to the school’s kindergarten acceptance date, that he would be behind in class, and not know all the information he should know by then.
