Face Adrenalin: Bloukrans Bungy Responsible Tourism Policy Face Adrenalin pioneered and established bungy jumping in South Africa when we opened for business in 1990. We’ve operated the highest commercial bungy bridge in the world - Bloukrans Bungy, in the Tsitsikamma section of the Garden Route - since 1997, and we’re thus deeply aware of the value and importance of our relationships with both the people and natural environment of this beautiful region. Having always supported the principles of the triple bottom line (financial, social, and environmental accountability), and given that we accept the definition of responsible tourism as ‘creating better places to live in, and better places to visit,’ we are thus also committed to supporting the principles of responsible tourism as defined in the Cape Town Declaration of 2002. Global Code of Ethics for Tourism We acknowledge the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism (adopted in 1999 by the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization) as a fundamental frame of reference for responsible tourism. Amongst others, we uphold the ten principles of this code in the following ways: Article 1: Tourism's contribution to mutual understanding and respect between peoples and societies Friendship and understanding between people grow when we share our fears and overcome them. Face Adrenalin exists for this reason. Our purpose: give people the most amazing experience of their lives. Article 2: Tourism as a vehicle for individual and collective fulfillment Face Adrenalin works to create positive experiences for our guests, spectators, and members of our crew. We strive to offer meaningful work and attainable opportunities for our crew - most of whom grew up in the Tsitsikamma. Article 3: Tourism, a factor of sustainable development Face Adrenalin donates 10% of total turnover to the Tsitsikamma Village Trust, which was established to help with the development of the community. By pegging our contribution to turnover, we achieve sustainability through growth.

Global Code of Ethics for Tourism We acknowledge the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism (adopted in 1999 by the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization) as a fundamental frame of reference for responsible tourism. Amongst others, we uphold the ten principles of this code in the following ways: Article 1: Tourism's contribution to mutual understanding and respect between peoples and societies

Friendship and understanding between people grow when we share our fears and overcome them. Face Adrenalin exists for this reason. Our purpose: give people the most amazing experience of their lives.

Article 2: Tourism as a vehicle for individual and collective fulfillment

Face Adrenalin works to create positive experiences for our guests, spectators, and members of our crew. We strive to offer meaningful work and attainable opportunities for our crew - most of whom grew up in the Tsitsikamma.

Article 3: Tourism, a factor of sustainable development

Article 4: Tourism, a user of the cultural heritage of mankind and contributor to its enhancement Article 5: Tourism, a beneficial activity for host countries and communities

Article 6: Obligations of stakeholders in tourism development

Face Adrenalin works constantly to ensure that individual members of our crew have ample opportunities for training, personal growth, and career advancement.

Article 7: Right to tourism Article 8: Liberty of tourist movements Article 9: Rights of the workers and entrepreneurs in the tourism industry

Face Adrenalin acknowledges the rights of workers, upholds South Africa’s labour laws, and encourages local entrepreneurs to share in our success through the establishment of businesses of their own (catering, curios and gift sales, etc.) at our Bloukrans campus - which attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Article 10: Implementation of the principles of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism Equality It’s simple: we’re all equal, with equal needs - and fears! - and we never discriminate against anyone. The crew of Face Adrenalin works actively to uphold the first principle of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”), and the Bill of Rights (Chapter Two of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa), which guarantees equality for everyone, regardless of sex, age, creed, race, etc. Natural Environment We take responsibility for our impact on the natural environment, and we expect our guests to do the same. We respect the value and integrity of the environment of the Garden Route National Park, and acknowledge our privilege as neighbours and users of the Park. We acknowledge that things that happen on our Bloukrans campus could have consequences for our neighbours, and we take steps to prevent or mitigate their negative effects. We work towards environmental sustainability by implementing the 4 Rs: reduce; re-use; recycle; rethink. Social Environment We leverage our position as employers to provide meaningful work and growth opportunities for each individual member of our crew, and we acknowledge and understand the vital role that each of us plays in the lives of our families, our friends, and our community. We work to improve the lives of people living in the Tsitsikamma, since this community makes it possible for us to build and develop our team. Economic Environment Strict financial discipline ensures the sustainability of our business, while strict adherence to safety procedures and sound health and hygiene practices ensure the well-being of everyone who comes onto our Bloukrans campus.

Conscious Tourism We subscribe to the principles of Conscious Tourism, as defined in Anna Pollock’s manifesto, Conscious Travel - not more, but better: “Conscious Hosts shift their focus from growing tourism to making it better. The shift is a shift in focus from volume growth (more trips, more gross revenue), to more value and benefit experienced by more stakeholders.” The people of Face Adrenalin are committed to our responsible tourism policy because it aims to ensure a healthy future for ourselves, our guests, our community, our industry, and our planet . And because we’re having a damn good time doing it.
