What is the Loyal Order of Moose? The Moose is a non-political and nonsectarian
International Fraternal Lodge system, operating in the
United States, Canada, Great Britain and Bermuda. It has
a membership over one million men and women, with
over 1800 lodges and 1500 chapters, most of which offer
lodge facilities.
What Will I Gain by Being a Moose? You gain the fellowship and recreation of belonging to an
organization that offers a gathering place suitable for the
whole family. In becoming a member of Greeneville
Lodge #692, you not only have access to your own Lodge,
but every Moose Lodge in the entire fraternity. So, if you
happen to visit a town of any size, there is likely to be a
Moose Lodge there. As a member, you will be eligible to
use all the facilities and take advantage of the reasonable
prices for the food, beverages and entertainment offered.
As a member of the Greeneville Lodge, you can choose
from many various social activities, such as: dancing,
swimming, sports, games, holiday parties, dinners and
picnics - all planned with the family in mind. Most
important, you’ll have new friends to share it with.
What Will the Moose Expect of Me? We can only hope that you will become active in the
worthy causes and internal affairs of the Greeneville
Lodge and Loyal Order of Moose. We have determined
that those who get the most out of being a member are
those who get involved and share the pride of our
achievements. Naturally, we expect ethical conduct and
respect for others. The Greeneville Lodge has gained
much of it’s popularity as a place where members can
bring their family and friends, knowing that personal
conduct standards are demanded and any form of public
misconduct will not be tolerated.
What About the Women in My Family?
Membership in the Women of the Moose is available to
qualified women 21 years or older. As a member she will
enjoy all the lodge facilities and recreational benefits. The
roll of the Women of the Moose has been a major factor in
the organization’s success.
What Does Our Lodge Do For Our Community?
The Greeneville Lodge has a long tradition of caring for
our local community. Our lodge contributes over
$30,000 annually to local causes, with particular
emphasis on local youth programs.
What is Mooseheart?
Mooseheart, “The Child City”, dedicated on July 27,
1913, forty miles southwest of Chicago is owned and
maintained by the Loyal Order of Moose for the care of
children of members and non-members who have lost
one or both parents, or come from undesirable home
environments. A complete city, occupying some 1000
acres, Mooseheart makes every effort to provide these
children the necessities for a pleasant and meaningful
childhood, including child residences, schools,
vocational workshops, stores, bank, health center, post
office, athletic stadium and field house. And the focal
point of the campus is the magnificent House of God.
Mooseheart maintains an accredited school system from
nursery through high school. Greeneville Lodge is a
proud supporter of Mooseheart and its continued
success.
What is Moosehaven?
Moosehaven, located just south of Jacksonville, in
Orange Park, Florida is known to many as the “City of
Contentment”. A self contained campus with modern
one-level apartments, a fully equipped Health Center,
golf course, fishing pier and numerous other activities
especially suited for qualified senior Moose members
and their spouses. This facility is also maintained by the
Loyal Order of Moose and provides a comfortable social
environment for our seniors.
How Can I Become a Member?
You must be 21 years of age and request sponsorship
from a member. Your application is submitted, and
upon approval, you will attend an enrollment ceremony
where our noble principles will be fully explained, fol-
lowed by the oath of membership.
