the proper way to put on/take off gloves, gowns, and face masks. While these are part of their

In March we welcomed a new resident. Help us welcome Geneva “Jenny” Lawrence-Burch to

March in Review March sure came in like a lion and went out like a lamb this year. We welcome spring with snow

that is Fairbanks for you! Due to the recent Coronavirus, or COVID-19, we have had to

make the hard decision to close our doors to all visitors. We are doing activities very differently. It is our hope that we will be able to continue to

offer some type of activity to help eliminate loneliness and boredom.

Our most popular activities are being modified to accommodate space between residents. We

already have had two session of Hallway Bingo and they have been huge hits! We will continue to try and experiment with various activities for

the month of April. We are in the process of getting a mobile version of the Little Store

going. Hallway Sing-a-long and Hallway Fit for Life are also in the works.

We are still brainstorming ideas for our residents. We have been delivering to our residents, puzzles, craft supplies, coloring

supplies, etc. We are also diligently working on our ability to have residents Skype with their

family and loved ones. We will hopefully have that resolved next week!

How people can help our residents

To our volunteers or anyone that wants to help our residents out, here are a number of ways to

help out our residents:

Alaska Caring Notes: This is an initiative to encourage children who

are home from school to take time to write notes, upload a drawing, or send a video to

residents in nursing homes around Alaska. The website is here:

https://www.ashnha.com/alaska-caring-notes/

Performances (video & audio recordings): If you would like to record a performance and send it to our residents, please contact Valerie Robancho at [email protected] or
