We hope you like our new Autumn Season highlights brochure. Our 15 - 16 Classical Music Season starts in September and we welcome back our resident orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. We also have a Gilbert & Sullivan Season and some great plays in our Ashcroft Theatre. We now host live transmissions too, in our new Concert Hall Cinema, from English National Opera, the National Theatre, the Royal Opera House and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Monday 14 September 7pm - CONCERT HALLMR HOLMES Directed by Bill Condon, 2015. Starring Sir Ian McKellen, Laura Linney and Hiroyuki Sanada. An aged, retired Sherlock Holmes looks back on his life, and grapples with an unsolved case involving a beautiful woman. With his memory failing him, the great detective can only remember fragments of the case, but is determined to solve this one last mystery.

Set in 1880, this is the exquisitely unnerving tale of a tormented signalman who is haunted by visions of impending disaster on his isolated stretch of line. Having missed his connection, George Pendlebury is forced to spend a night alone in Casterton’s old station waiting room.
