FROM THE PASTOR…

The New Year is almost here! As I get older, me seems to go faster. And one of the things that I've go en into the habit of doing the last few years is looking back as the year closes. I reflect on all the blessings and beau ful things that God has given me. Some mes by my human nature, I focus on what's not going right in my personal life or else-where. I forget that God always watches over me. It seems to me, speaking only for myself, that my spir-itual journey is simply to place more trust in God and believe in his uncondi onal love for me. I am firmly convinced that if I try to stay as close as pos-sible to Jesus, par cipate to the best of my ability in the Sacramental life of the Church, and try to be the best man I can be, life is very beau ful. A long me ago, I gave up resolu ons like die ng and walking every day and things like this. So if I make any New Year’s resolu on this year, I would like for it to be to remind myself every day, to sur-render more to God in my life. My hope for all of you as we move into the New Year is for your reso-lu on to be to place your trust in God’s love for you fully, and develop more fully a spirit of deep gra -tude. As you know I came to the parish this year and I am extremely touched and gra fied by all the won-derful people in this parish. Our great cultural diver-sity is an incredible blessing. We have an enormous amount of volunteers and people who serve in vari-ous ministries all over the place. I am grateful for the Franciscan spirit of hospitality and welcoming that all of you possess. On behalf of all of the friars and all the staff, we wish you much joy and happi-ness in this New Year. Fr. David Gaa, OFM Pastor
