MARCH 2015: COURAGE

Daffodil Meaning:

The sun will

always shine

when I’m with

you!

JESUS:

Take courage! It is I.

Don’t be afraid. Mt.14:27 NIV

Come to me, all you who are weary and

burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my

yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am

gentle and humble in heart, and you will

find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy

and my burden is light. Mt. 11:28-30 NIV

HE CARETH FOR ME! By Maxine Trigleth

He careth for me when the troubles descend.

When menacing torrents of rain and of winds

Threaten to thrash every fiber within,

He draws me and holds me so close to Him!

He stands by me like a sheltering oak --

Whose life giving branches have power to invoke

All the strength and protection that my life will need.

In the time of temptation--in the times when I weep.

I sense His sweet presence when everything’s right.

The sun richly shining, the sky clear and bright,

When the grass is so green and the flowers are in

bloom

And birds sing their love songs and nest building

zooms.

And God’s special orchestra blends its rare songs --

The cricket, the grasshopper, locust and frog.

Their instruments tuned and their talents displayed,

In the still of the night and sometimes through the

day.

He careth for me in all of my times

And makes life worth living with purpose sublime.

I love Him, I trust Him to guide me each day --

I know He’ll be with me each step of my way!

JESUS:

My purpose

Is to give life

In all its fullness. John 10:10 TLB

GREETINGS FROM CUBA!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I recently received the two packages of tracts

that you sent. They served greatly in the work of

our small church in this city. We have been

preaching the gospel house by house in our

neighborhood. We are also starting a campaign

where we go through the phone book and send a

tract to each person at their address.

The tracts are also so helpful for our prison

ministry. The prisoners really appreciate

anything that comes from the outside. They read,

reread, analyze and memorize the tracts. We

give tracts to them when we visit personally and

we also send some through the mail.

I wanted you to know what we are doing with

them because I would like to request more tracts.

Even now I am working on 25 letters to women

in jail to encourage them and give them hope in

the Lord, but this time I will also be able to put a

tract in each letter, which I am sure will be

passed around to many people. I am telling you

this so you know the reach that your work for

the Lord has.

We pray for your daily, for health and for God

to provide your needs so that your ministry can

fulfill the command of the Lord to preach the

word to all creation.

On September 25, 1996, 18 years ago, I received

a booklet called Lecturas Biblicas. It’s now

falling apart, not from neglect but from frequent

use during all these years—clarifying doubts and

preparing sermons for some churches. Maybe

I’m foolish to think you still have some copies of

this book left, but since it’s so useful and such a

blessing I think maybe you do. If not, please

forgive my asking.

Roberto

Cuba

Christian Triumph Note: We think Roberto will

be very pleased when he opens his next shipment

to see that not only do we still have Lecturas

Biblicas but it is now in an updated format! Thank

you, our friends, for supporting us in these efforts. God bless you! (Donna, Missionary Coordinator)

NEWS FROM BRAZIL

Dear Brother! Peace of the Lord Jesus.

How are you?

For me, it is one pleasure that you contact.

I am fine, and I have made distribution of many

tracts in my nation by God’s Glory.

Souls are very precious to the Lord! Souls need

salvation. I supply tracts free in many places of

Brazil, and the Lord has blessed my work.

Many Brazilians receive my literature well.

Gospel tracts are very good for taking God’s

word to the people. Many people have had their

lives changed and received salvation through

Gospel tracts.

When a person reads a tract that a Christian

supplies, a spiritual form of work occurs in his

life. Please, I wish that you will send me a small

package of Gospel tracts in Portuguese. This will

bless my nation and the Brazilians will

understand well. Thank you very much.

Blessings, Dear Brother. Prov. 11:30b

New post on Walking Man ■ The Book

Finally the Rain Stopped by Walking Man

Before we pour the cement to make the ceiling/floor

of the second story, we level it and support it with

these wooden poles.

We’ve had four days of calm after almost a month of

non-stop rain. It was problematic trying to work on

the church construction every day it rained. Water

was coming from everywhere and flooded the space

where Pastor Cesar and his wife and kids live. They

were worried because the water had filled the latrine

they were using and water was starting to come out

of it! Can you imagine have to wade around in that.

Terrible. But now the water level is down again and

we are trying to construct the real bathroom and shut

off that latrine because we need that area anyway

for the next phase of construction.

We’ve been at it since Monday a week ago and now

part of the walls and columns are ready. After that,

we’ll have to put up wood to prop up the roof/floor of

second story for pouring the cement on the front part

of the building. Narciso in Peru Walking Man |

Christian Triumph has six of Narciso’s

books, Walking Man, in English - to give

away if you would like a copy. On the back

of the book, you will read:

Got a heart for missions and a spirit for

adventure? Called out of delinquency and

despite abject poverty, Narciso Zamora

trekked with the Gospel over the mountains

and through the jungles of Ecuador, Peru

and Chile. Join the Walking Man in a literal

journey of a thousand miles – an odyssey of

serenity in adversity.

Excerpt from Narciso’s book (one of his

Gospel adventures: after a Bible Study) The next morning, I told the family that I had

some plastic wares that I wanted to exchange for

food that doesn’t easily spoil. The brother told me

that I hadn’t needed to offer anything but to just

ask because they had plenty for me to take home. …they gave me a sack full of 40 kilos of corn,

squash, peas, lima beans, green beans, potatoes,

carrots, cabbage, and more. I was so happy to

receive that large quantity of food to be able to

take home to my family.

After breakfast, I threw that sack up on my

shoulders and started walking. It was 7:00 a.m.

when I started and within just a few hours, I was

worn out- and the rest of the way was uphill! I had

a mountain to climb, no exaggeration! I sat down

to rest beside the road, then I went a short way

into the woods and found some rope-like vines. I

tied the sack with the vines in the middle, brought

the ends of the vine around my shoulders, tied it

off in a knot, at my chest and I started off again.

It was getting late in the day. I had nothing left.

I was hungry and thirsty but my heart jumped

when I saw the sight of the city up ahead and I

thought, “I’m almost there!” I got home around

4:00 p.m. and my wife ran out to meet me. As she

helped to lift the sack off me, we saw that the

weight and the vines had brought blood to my

shoulders. I was completely exhausted with barely

enough strength to walk into the house; but I was

happy because that day my wife cooked a delicious corn and a vegetable stew. Glory to God! Page 63

Little Things

Can Make a HUGE Difference

by

Anita:

Yes,

little

things

make a

big

difference; for instance, the little birds that fly

about. We may not pay much attention to them as

to their kind or beauty; however, if or when we

consider what birds can do for man, we might be

amazed.

While searching for food, they can and do feast

on numbers of insects, rodents, as well as weed

seeds which help the farmers harvest more crops.

Without the birds’ assistance, our food would be

much more expensive. (That makes a big

difference!) Also, birds can and do affect old,

barren abandoned fields which spring to new,

productive life because of the seeds.

Mallard ducks are of great benefit, often placed

in swamps and ponds to rid them of mosquito

larvae. This helps control disease.

Psalm 36 promises that God is concerned for

both man and beast. In Luke 12:24, Jesus says,

Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they

have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them.NIV

Birds are important to God, and He cares for them.

Then, Jesus added in that same verse: And how

much more valuable you are than birds. NIV

At times, though, we may feel very insignificant.

We may seem little in our own sight or maybe from

another’s point of view as well. But with God, we

are of great value, and His salvation is so important

that Jesus gave His life for us.

God cares for each person no matter who or

where he or she resides! In truth, we all make a

huge difference in this world, especially as we pray

for others and share the Love of God. Anita H.

Editor: In the following article about Nigeria, we

can see that just sending a used Bible will be an

act of love. Even though praying may seem a

small thing - to those whose very lives depend

upon the Lord, prayer is of the utmost

importance. Paul spoke of this to those who

prayed for him - in 2 Corinthians 1:8-11.

We do not want you to be uniformed, brothers,

about the hardships we suffered in the province of

Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond

our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of

life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of

death. But this happened that we might not rely on

ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has

delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will

deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he

will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your

prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf

for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the

prayers of many.

NOW IN NIGERIA! By Donna, Outreach Coordinator

We ask your prayers for our partners in

Nigeria who recently were attacked. As

well, a church in the northern part of the

country was burned to the ground by

Sunni Muslim extremists of the Boko

Harman group.

Praise God no one

was in the church

and none of the

congregation was

harmed, though

many Christians in

Baga were killed.

Musa Mohammed

is the pastor of the

church in Baga.

Many of the

church members

fled to the neighboring country of Niger

for safety. Our man on the ground is

Pastor Japhet Ekpo (see picture), who

lives in Lagos, and established the satellite

church in Baga, in Northern Nigeria. He

writes, “The Muslims want Sharia law to

Page 5

be established and want their

independent republic.” The problems are

contained to the northern part of the

country, which the Muslims consider

their land. “For instance, I am of Igbo

origin in the eastern part of Nigeria. We

do not have problems, but they do not

want us there,” explains Pastor Ekpo.

Christian Triumph is preparing a big

mailing bag of tracts and Bibles to send to

Nigeria. The need is greater there now. If

you have an extra Bible you would

consider donating to our readers in

Nigeria, we will gladly forward it on in

the M-bag, a cost-saving mailing method.

Please send to Christian Triumph

Company, PO BOX 5187, Corpus Christi,

Texas 78465-5187. Please include a small

note saying: Bible for Nigeria.

The terrorist group’s activities are

becoming more frequent as Nigeria

approaches their national elections on

February 14th

. Still, please continue in

prayer that God will be manifest in the

lives of our Christian Brothers and Sisters

in Nigeria and protect them from further

violence.

The weapons we fight with are not the

weapons of this world. On the contrary,

they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4 NIV

Little Is Much A hedge served to grace the back of our yard,

With privacy afforded replete.

Until we noticed one particular day

That our fence was no longer complete.

A tiny opening had come into view,

With pets---dogs and cats now our visitors.

And what had become of that once private place,

Seemed now to be trod with transgressors.

We never considered how important the shrub,

That took a disease and grew ill.

Until it had died and none took its place

Now visitors came as they willed.

The family no longer enjoyed its release

From the neighbors with an inquiring glance.

The bar-b-que setting was never the same

Since the death in the back hedge row fence.

And who can measure the worth of the small,

As it fits in a much bigger plan

Without it the picture could not be complete

It’s necessary for the whole span.

Who can measure the worth of the smallest of

coins

The penny for the purchase complete.

All alone its value seems so very small

In emergencies what a great treat.

And what of that small piece of chocolate cake

To the one who is counting the cost,

Of trying to take off the excessive weight

It only adds less to the loss.

Oh, little things you’re so important in life

We need to be alert to your birth.

Christ said that even a cup of cold water

Brought rewards of considerable worth.

So Lord, help me please to recognize worth

In tiny deeds that I do every day.

To someone they might be a blessing untold

As he journeys along on life’s way!

Feeling Inadequate – Too little?

Remember the shepherd boy who

became King!

The Lord said

to Samuel… “I am sending you to

Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen

one of his sons to be king.”

Samuel saw Eliab and thought,

“Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here

before the Lord.”

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not

consider his appearance or his height, for I

have rejected him. The Lord does not look

at the things man looks at. Man looks at

the outward appearance but the Lord looks

at the heart.”

Jesse had seven of his sons pass

before Samuel, but Samuel said to him,

“The Lord has not chosen these…Are

these all the sons you have?”

“There is still the youngest,” Jesse

answered, “but he is tending the sheep.”

…Samuel took the horn of oil and

anointed him in the presence of his

brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of

the Lord came upon David in power… I Samuel 16

Later: I Samuel 17:

Early in the morning David left the

flock with a shepherd, loaded up and set

out, as Jesse had directed. He reached the

camp as the army was going out to its battle

positions…David left his things with the

keeper of supplies, ran to the battle lines

and greeted his brothers. As he was talking

with them, Goliath, the Philistine

champion from Gath, stepped out from his

lines and shouted his usual defiance, and

David heard it. When the Israelites saw the

man, they all ran from him in great fear.

David said to Saul, “Let no one lose

heart on account of this Philistine; your

servant will go and fight him.”

Saul replied, “You are not able to go

out against this Philistine and fight him;

you are only a boy, and he has been a

fighting man from his youth.”

But David said to Saul, “The Lord

who delivered me from the paw of the lion

and the paw of the bear will deliver me

from the hand of this Philistine.”

Saul said to David, “Go, and the

Lord be with you.”

…Meanwhile the Philistine, with his

shield bearer in front of him, kept coming

closer to David. He looked David over and

saw that he was only a boy… “Am I a dog,

that you come at me with sticks?” And the

Philistine cursed David by his gods…

David said to the Philistine, “You

come against me with sword and spear and

javelin, but I come against you in the name

of the Lord Almighty, the God of the

armies of Israel, whom you have

defied…all those who gathered here will

know that it is not by sword or spear that

the Lord saves; for the battle is the

Lord’s…”

David ran quickly toward the battle line

to meet him. Reaching into his bag and

taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine…so [little] David triumphed

over the Philistine. (Summary of scriptures by Editor) TAKE HEART.

THE U.S.A.

Knocking Them Down

As I watched the Super Bowl last night, I was

reminded of the story of a young man who was an

All-American football player in college went back

to his alma mater as an assistant coach. One of his

main responsibilities in his new job would be to go

out and scout and recruit players for his college

team.

Before he made his first recruiting trip, he went in

to visit with the head coach, the same coach for

whom he had played when he was there in college

some years before. The head coach was a crusty old

veteran. He had held that position as head coach for

many years, was widely known and highly

respected all across the country. The new young

coach said to him, "Coach, I'm about to head out on

my first recruiting trip, but before I go I want to be

sure that we are on the same page. Tell me, Coach,

what kind of player do you want me to recruit?"

The crusty old head coach leaned back in his chair.

He looked the young coach straight in the eyes and

said: "Son, I've been at this job a long time and over

the years I have noticed that there are several

different kinds of players. For example," he said,

"you will find some players who get knocked down

and they stay down. That's not the kind we want!"

And he said, "You will find some players who get

knocked down and they will get right back up and

get knocked down again and then they stay down.

That's not the kind we want!"

And then the old coach said, "But you will also find

some other players who get knocked down and

knocked down and knocked down, and every time

they get knocked down, they get right back up!"

At this point, the young coach got excited and he

said, "Now, that's the kind of player we want, isn't

it, Coach?"

"No!" said the old head coach. "We want the one

doing all that knocking down!!"

Yes, we are called to be strong and to stand firm

and to get back up when were been knocked down -

and we commend people like that for being people

of great faith. We must also remember that we in

the church are called to knock down walls of hate

and hostility and unforgiveness - and to build

bridges of love and reconciliation.

For he himself is our peace, who has made us both

one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall

of hostility. Ephesians 2:14

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I

will build my church and the gates of Hell will not

prevail against it. Matthew 16:18
