FOOD & WINEWine AppreciationAn exploration into three of the most popular white wine varietals and four of the most popular reds, from different parts of the world. The com-parison and contrast of the same grape from different sources will give students the basic know-ledge to be able to choose wines from a wine list or at a wine shop with confi dence. The last class will be a practical/social session. Please bring a wine glass to class. A materials fee of $30, all to be spent on wines, is payable to the instructor the fi rst night of class. You must be over 21 years of age to take this class. Please bring your picture ID to the fi rst night of class.

Wine MakingWho does not enjoy wine? It brings friends together, it goes with the right meal, and it has so many fl avors. Many people would love to try to make wine, but do not know how. These classes will start you on a hobby that is extremely rewarding! (This is not a wine tasting class.) Covers all the basics to get you started in making your own wine at home: grape varieties, unit of measurement, supplies and equipment, storage vessels, cleaning and sanitizing, racking and bottling your wine, mak-ing personalized labels, and the processing of your wine. You will learn where to buy your grapes, juice or kits—both locally and on the internet. We will study wines made from kits and juice. Within six weeks you could be drinking your fi rst home made wine!

Digital Photography EditingAre you ready to edit your digital photos? In this class you will learn the basic photo edit-ing features found in all digital photo software including red eye removal, color correction, image manipulation, black and white conversion and more. If you are new to the area, have an upcoming special occasion or just want to get your partner moving to that Latin beat, then this class is for you. Partners are preferred but not re-quired. Ghosts and the Amityville HorrorDid you see “The Haunting in Connecticut” (2009) in the movie theatres? Well, now come and hear from the ex-pert, Lorraine Warren, who has been the nation’s top psychic researcher for over 3 decades, and has lectured, extensively at colleges and universities throughout the country. She will lead a slide presentation and discussion about her life-long work with her late husband, Ed. The Warrens have inves-tigated the realm of the supernatural throughout Europe, North America, and Australia. Their work in the “Amityville Horror” investigation is their most requested lecture topic and is still fascinating, more than 25 years later. They were two of only a handful of investigators allowed into the infamous “Ami-tyville Horror” home and have the only pictures ever taken inside the house. Two movies were made about their cases, one “The Haunted” from their book with the same name and the other “The Demon Murder Case” from their book “The Devil in Connecticut.” This program is open to high school students.
