The School Recycling CLUB isexcited to announce the first-
ever School Recycling Track at Northeast Re-source RecoveryAssociation’s An-nual Conferenceon June 7th at theRadisson HotelManchester/Center for NewHampshire.
This one-day event will be jammed packed with need-to-know tips and tricks to
making recycling strong atyour school. There will beworkshops for both beginnersand advanced school recyclingprograms, so nobody will beleft out. Last year, we offered

The Gilmanton School worked hard tochange from plastic to washable uten-
sils. The students held a silverware drive,giving families a perfect outlet to donatemismatched utensils. Not only did this save
the school money, but it saves the environ-ment too. Once the silverware was put intouse, students monitored trash cans, to makesure that it wasn’t being thrown away. Thisis a win-win situation for the earth and theschool! Great job Gilmanton School stu-dents! We hope more schools follow yourgreat lead.

The Steel Recycling Institute has devel-oped a full-circle educational program
that provides stimulating tools to teachyoung people about sensible solid waste
management, the Steel Recycling Insti-tute developed Steel Cycles, an educa-tional program which spans grades pre-Kthrough 12. The Steel Cycles componentscan be used independently or in conjunc-tion with other classroom material, andare available either free of charge or at anominal price.

Paper Recycling Lessons
American Forest and Paper Association and Scholas-tics have teamed-up to create a dynamic education-
al program aligned with national standards in languagearts, science, and math. The materials will help yourstudents build core skills as well as teach them impor-tant basics about paper recycling. This updated ver-sion includes lesson plans, a poster to display in yourclassroom and links facts and videos.

On the Road Again!
The School Recycling CLUB
has taken the show on theroad, traveling to schools tolend a hand in starting or
expanding recycling programs. Usually visitslast between a half and hour and an hour. Eachvisit is customized to addresses specific prob-lems or concerns of the school.
Keep in mind that school visits are the perfectopportunity to get your needs met. We canprovide you with:
• Curriculum (based on your needs)
• PETE’s Pack (middle/high school)• Recycling Bins or ClearStreams(ordered and paid for)
