Farewell Reception for Rabbi J. Hurvitz
On Sunday evening, August 31st, at six o'clock, a farewell reception and banquet will be given by the Pittsburgh Jewry in honor of Rabbi Jacob J. Hur vitz of the East End. It will be held in the auditorium of the Adath Jeshurin Synagogue, Margaretta Street. All the synagogues of Pittsburgh and vicinity are sending representative committees to honor the rabbi on this occasion, and all the rabbis in the city are expected.
Rabbi J. Hurvitz
Rabbi Hurvitz is leaving Pittsburgh, having accepted the position of rabbi and spiritual leader of the Jewish com munity and congregation of the city of Lynn, Mass., where he will assume his duties on September 1st.
Rabbi Hurvitz is considered in the rabbinical world one of the foremost talmudic scholars of the age. He is the author of many talmudic and exegetical works, still in manuscript, and is con sidered an authority on Hebrew law.
The hostesses of this banquet are the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Torath Chaim Congregation, Mrs. Fineberg, President.

This address will be delivered through the courtesy of the Metropolitan League of Jewish Community Centers. Dr. Goldstein will broadcast in behalf of the Jewish Committee on Scouting of the Boy Scouts of America of which organ ization he is a Vice-President.
