Farghana Institute coexists alongside the Minhaj-ul-Quran International Mosque. This allows Farghana students to benefit a great deal from having available its own prayer hall for educa-tional and spiritual activities. Both brothers and sisters have a prayer hall.

ACTIVITIES

Our activities include the following: five daily prayer congregations, the Friday prayer (Jumah), facilities for Ramadan; Itikaf and Salaat-ul-Taraweeh. The prayer hall also plays an important role in our events, as well as holding classes, spiritual gatherings of dhikr and durood.

Other activities include weekend residentials and durus in the evenings alongside dhikr. A unique feature of the hall is what is an area named as Halaqa Al-Salat Alan-Nabi, gatherings of reciting benedictions and salutations upon the Beloved Prophet Muhammad .

This is part of the Gosha-e-Durood Institute in Pakistan, Lahore where durood has been recited up to 11,917,710,523 times. For the first time in history, Gosha-e-Durood, a full-time institute where anybody can apply in order to recite salutations upon the Beloved Prophet . The recita-tion of the Holy Quran and durood takes place non-stop on a daily basis, 24 hours a day, every week, every month and is to continue indefinitely. This is a unique way to promote the love for the Holy Prophet and to increase ones spirituality.

Alexandria Park

Whalley Range is a locality within the City of Manchester. It lies about 2 miles (3.2 km) south-southwest of Manchester city centre. Whalley Range is surrounded by Alexandra Park, Moss Lane West and Wilbraham Road. It is the location for the celebrated William Hulme Grammar School, established as an independent school in 1887, named after William Hulme of Kearsley - the school became a direct grant school in 1976. Nearby is Whalley Range High School on Wilbraham Road.

Whalley Range was one of Manchester's first suburbs, built by Manchester banker and business-man Samuel Brooks as "a desirable estate for gentlemen and their families." Whalley Range is home to many schools and colleges, churches and chapels, many places of worship and cultural associations.

The district is also known for its multicultural makeup and the sheer number and diversity of the religions and cultures to be found there, including the Manchester Chinese Church, the Pioneer Centre for Spiritualism, St Edmunds Convent, St Bede's Roman Catholic College and several other churches and mosques.

By the blessings of Almighty Allah, it is now home to Farghana Institute too.

The City of Manchester provides ample opportunity to take part in many activities.

FOOD: There are over 500 restaurants in the city centre and 30 international cuisines. These include many Halal restaurants.

SHOPPING: Manchester has many retail parks and markets. Notable shopping centres include: The Trafford centre and the City Arndale.

CULTURE: Manchester has over 30 museums and galleries. Notably the Manchester Art Gallery, the Museum of Science and Industry and the Urbis.

SPORTS: There are around 90 golf courses, athletics stadiums or centres such as the Aquatics arena, and around 81 Green Flag Parks. There are many football stadiums, outdoor pursuits and indoor sports. For cricket, there is the Lanchashire Cricket Ground in Old Trafford.

TRANSPORT: Manchester has one of the best city transport systems outside London. There is a Metrolink, a bus network, a train network, a Metro Shuttle and transport for cyclists.

CONNECTIVITY: Manchester Airport is the best UK regional airport. Just around the corner of Manchester there are places like the Lake District, Pennines, Blackpool, Cheshire, Liverpool, York-shire Dales and Wales.
