modules shown in the image on page 2, covering every aspect of consumer touch points (store, Internet, call centre, catalogue, mobile,

e-commerce and pop-up stores). It is suitable for all sizes of retailer.

Smaller retailers can implement iVend Retail integrated to an accounting system to have a complete, feature rich, solution for their business. Modest size retailers can interface iVend Retail to SAP Business One to provide the extra level of headquarters functionality that they need. Large retailers can interface to any ERP using inbuilt tools in the software. Some ERP integrations are available as part of the standard product. Those retailers can then use the extensibility toolkit to interface to specialist modules like merchandise planning and planogramming. The very large retailers can use the extensibility toolkit to integrate iVend Retail to all applications and to include additional bespoke functionality wherever they need it.

The solution can be implemented in house or on the iVend Cloud. In either case, comprehensive confi guration options mean that the solution is fully resilient and trading will not be interrupted if network connections are lost for a period of time. Trading can continue without network access and recovery is automatic once connections are restored.

The system design, different ways of buying it and its rich functionality make the cost of ownership particularly low.

iVend Retail ModulesiVend Enterprise

At the core of the entire solution is iVend Enterprise – the central repository from where master data is disseminated across the enterprise and where all the transactions get consolidated. Master data like products, product groups, categories, customers, customer groups, price lists, promotions, gift cards, coupons, taxes, policies related to POS register management, user rights, etc. are all defined in iVend Enterprise and get replicated across the entire retail estate. All transactions like sales, refunds, returns and store credits from all stores, mobile points of sale, call centers and the ecommerce portal get collated by iVend Enterprise.

iVend Enterprise then provides a group of functions related to inventory management, which collectively allow the enterprise to operate with a single stock pool:

Real time replication of inventory transactions across the enterprise to maintain a single stock pool for inventory productivity and customer satisfaction.

• Value the inventory using standard costing or moving average costing approaches

• Statistical forecasting of demand using a variety of statistical methods and an automatic best pick option

• Replenishment based on a variety of factors including lead time, minimum presentation quantity, replenishment sources and pack sizes or units of measure

iVend Loyalty

iVend Loyalty allows retailers to structure their loyalty programs to fit their business model and supports multiple programmes across all sales channels. Retailers can easily develop flexible and configurable loyalty plans across customer groups, product groups and payment types to address unique business situations. This means rewards as well as points and more targeted and timely customer communication. Multiple levels of membership are possible and the system will automatically promote members according to retailer defined rules. Loyalty schemes can be developed that include a service element, so that it is not all about price. The operation of the schemes allows customer data to be captured that can be analysed in iVend Reporting and analytics to give great customer insight and to develop long term loyalty.

The iVend Loyalty portal allows customers to access their own loyalty data via the Internet so that they can see instantly what level of rewards they have outstanding and can then decide when and how to redeem them. They can also use the portal to update information about themselves to help get the best from the retailer’s overall offer.

A typical store setup will start with the iVend Management Console – the application that is used by store back office users to carry out their day-to-day business functions like receiving of goods, requesting stock transfers, raising purchase orders, managing register operations, stock counting, inventory management, generating different reports, managing user rights, etc.

iVend Enterprise is always installed irrespective of which other modules of iVend Retail are installed.

iVend POS

iVend POS is a fast, dependable, powerful Point of Service application with an easy to use keyboard or touch screen operated user interface. It includes the following key features:

• Secure payment through country specific integrated payment systems (over 70 implemented already)

iVend Mobile POS

iVend Mobile POS can either be used in-store as a point of sale to reduce the wait times at the checkout counter or the mobile point of sale can be utilized to setup temporary shops or pop up shops in exhibitions, weekend markets, country fairs, etc.

The mobile point of sale can directly connect to iVend Enterprise over a 3G/4G or an Internet connection for use outside the store.

iVend Passes

iVend Passes is a cloud based, subscription service designed to support a variety of marketing initiatives. It allows retailers to distribute loyalty cards, gift cards and coupons (passes) to their customers electronically. If the customer has their phone with them, they have their coupons, gift cards and loyalty details available automatically.

Retailers can design their own cards and coupons, using a library of templates for both cards and the content of emails that can be sent to customers. Whenever customers transact at the point of sale, they can potentially receive a digital pass. To redeem these passes the customer just shows their pass to the cashier at the point of sale. The cashier scans the phone image or a physical card if they have one and the transaction goes through. Card or pass balances are updated immediately.

Passes can be geo fenced and individual stores can be identified on a pass. Whenever customers are in the vicinity of that store they may get a notification of their loyalty points or the expiry date of the coupons they have depending on what permissions are set up. It’s an effective way to connect with customers without being intrusive.

iVend Passes is the environmentally friendly way to distribute coupons, reward notifications and the like.

iVend Reporting and Analytics

iVend Reporting and Analytics includes reports and dashboards. The dashboards are based on pre-packaged shrink wrapped business intelligence displays specifically designed for retailers. The dashboard application is built on ClikView, which is an in-memory processing platform. The dashboards pick up raw transactional data from iVend Retail and can report, for example, affinity analysis, contribution by product or product groups, by customer or customer groups, analysis on how the different promotions have fared across different stores, what has been the most effective tender type across different stores and many more such analyses.

There are two report writers included. One is a simple report generator designed for non-technical business people who need a quick ad hoc report and do not have power user levels of knowledge. The second is a library of standard reports, which can be customised or added to using Crystal Reports. These will typically be edited or produced by a power user.

The true power of iVend Retail lies in the comprehensive functionality and the level of integration between the different modules in the solution. The customer experience diagram on page 2 shows the sheer variety of ways that consumers can shop today. iVend Retail supports all of these possibilities in standard software.
