will take place at the regular meeting of the Lodge on February 6, 2014.

Elections of 2014-2015 Lodge Officers

will take place at the next regular meeting of the Lodge on February 20, 2014.

NOTICE! PROPOSED LIFE MEMBER DUES CHANGE!

At the January 16th membership meeting, two motions were made by the lodge trustees that affect Life Mem-

bers and potential Life Members. The first motion is to raise the Life Member Dues to 50% of the full dues.

Presently, this amounts to $35.00 for Life Member dues. The second motion proposes to reduce the total number

of Life Members that Burlington Lodge will allow to be on the membership listing at 200 members. There are

currently 182 Life Members. These two motions were voted on and approved by the members present, however,

since this requires a by-law change, it is being warned in the bulletin. The final vote on accepting these by-law

changes will be held on February 6th at the regular member meeting.

Eldoes Corner

Well guess what – it is still icy, wet, raining, snowing.

The weather still hasn’t changed from last month. I know

that some have not fared too well because of this. A few falls, flooding and even some heating systems playing

havoc with all. Ain’t life just grand!!!!! Get well soon

and get everything up and running again. By the time this goes to print, we will have had our

January meeting and “holiday” dinner as well. I will

thank the proper parties for their assistance in the next

bulletin. Really can’t assume anything these days. I hate to repeat myself, but our basket raffle will be

drawn at the last 325 dinner on March 13th. SOOOOO

you still have plenty of time to take a chance. We al-ways like donations – so don’t be bashful – just give me

a call and I will be glad to accept it. A big THANK

YOU for your continuing support of the Eldoes. Our dessert table has been going very well. It is al-

ways nice to see the support of the Eldoes who provide

the desserts and to all of you who apparently do not like

to eat them. We will continue doing this until the “need” is over. haha

As this goes to print, Swans of New England Tours

will have participated in the 50+ Expo. Something new for us and it should prove beneficial to the Elks/Eldoes

as well. A brochure has been created showing all of our

scheduled trips at this time and will be available at the lodge. If more information is needed you can contact me

and I will share what I know. (did I say I know some-

thing – NOT) We have some interesting trips planned

ex: Boston Flower Show, Atlantic City, Cape Cod, Big E, Patsy Cline Tribute with a lobster dinner, mystery trip,

numerous casino trips and the list goes on. So we hope

to have you join us on one of these ventures. The prices are right and the “buses” are fun.

February 18th will be our next regular schedule meet-

ing starting at 6:30. Guests and prospective members are

always welcome – so please bring someone with you. Never know – they might just want to join this wild and

crazy group.

February birthday wishes go out to: Marie Ago Cheryl Demers Elsie Dinwiddie Gisele

Fontaine Agatha Morrow

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Please remember Eldoes and their families in your

thoughts and prayers.

Til next month - - - Sincerely –
