Wall to wall and floor to ceiling, then spilling out onto the connecting outside spaces, the NCBA Trade Show coming in February to San Antonio during the 2020 Cattle Industry and NCBA Trade Show will test attendee endurance and engagement, igniting their senses. More than that though, it will provide a whole new world of
education, along with abundant networking opportunities. Never in the history of the cattle industry has so much been packed into three days of activity.
With eight acres of floor space and outdoor displays a sold-out group of more than 350 exhibitors will visit with attendees and tell them about the cattle industry’s latest and greatest products and services. It’s more than just a traditional trade show, though. It will offer refreshments and entertainment to break up each Trade Show day, along with educational elements that will have visitors walking away better informed about how their operations can be more efficient and successful.
NEW EDUCATIONAL SESSIONSAlways looking for ways to enhance the show’s value, planners have started offering educational opportunities in the Trade Show. Some of these offerings are tried-and-true, while others are new-and-inviting.Among the educational sessions trade show
attendees have come to expect are found in the Learning Lounge, where classroom style sessions offer valuable educational tips.
It’s where attendees can drop by to enjoy informal, face-to-face talks and hands-on technology education in a small intimate setting between strolls through the aisles. There are two new educational opportunities
for 2020 that are sure to attract tremendous interest. A Chutes & Scales Showdown will allow show-goers to see chutes and
scales in action with live cattle. Some of the
industry’s top manufacturers will be on hand to describe new industry technology on both manual and hydraulic chutes, scales and visit one-on-one with attendees about how best to use this kind of equipment.
Table Talks is also a new element that will give cattlemen and women a chance to interact with fellow producers and industry leaders in small, interactive roundtable discussions. Topics that are on the minds of all cattlemen, such as cattle markets, animal
health, grazing, environmental challenges and many others will be “on the table” in the candid, thoughtful discussions.
MORNING TO NIGHTTraditionally there are attendees waiting to get into the trade show when it opens each morning. This year, it may be hard to get them to leave at the end of the day. The Trade Show Welcome Reception will
be held Wednesday afternoon and evening with a street fair-style fiesta that features live music, drinks and food that reflects the heritage of Texas.
Also, on Wednesday the American Bucking Bull Inc. Winter Futurity Finale will be happening in the Demonstration Arena –
something you won’t find anywhere else. Winners from the rounds conducted by the American Bucking Bull Association will go on to compete at the NCBA Invitational PBR
event Friday night. To make things even more interesting, ABBI will have representatives on hand to visit about what goes into raising winning bucking bulls.
If bulls aren’t your thing but puppies are, head to the Trade Show Friday afternoon for the Pups and Suds Yappy Hour, a fun-filled time to network with some furry special friends. It’s a great way to end a hectic – but valuable – Trade Show.
“Our NCBA Trade Show has evolved into an event that transcends the normal trade show experience,” says Kristin Torres, NCBA executive director for meetings and
events. “With entertainment, education and engagement added to the tremendous product information and networking opportunities, this is truly a unique and
valuable occasion. Without doubt it is worth the investment of time and money by any individual involved in the cattle industry.”
