Lilyhaven (CPOA) The Cape Peninsula Organisation for the Aged was founded in 1953 and registered as an NPO in 1999 and is celebrating 65 years of caring for the aged this year. Today there are over 20 residential homes in the Cape Peninsula. Several of these homes cater for State Pensioners who have no other means of support and are therefore completely dependent on the CPOA for all their needs. One of these homes is Lilyhaven, a 124 bedded home in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town. Lilyhaven opened in October 1 st 1972, 46 years ago. Our residents are all physically and mentally frail state pensioners over the age of 60. Half our residents are wheelchair dependant and a further 20% use a walking aid We Provide 24 Hour nursing care provided by Registered and Enrolled nurses as well as Ward Aids or Carers.. Twice daily activity programmes presented by trained activity presenter. CPOA transport with nursing escort provided to day hospitals and secondary hospitals. 24 Hour security. All daily meals provided. Domestic and Laundry services daily. A garden area that needs a makeover. A vegetable garden on premises Wish list Our residents are all State Pensioners and their Grants cover about 50% of the costs to run the home. The balance is funded by the CPOA but this does mean that there is very little additional funding available for running expenses and we are dependent on the generosity of donors. Our wish list is extensive and not on any order of preference: Funding Funding or a donor to refurbish the kitchen Funding or a donor to pave the Frail Care courtyard. These are both large and costly projects so partial funding that we can save until we have the full cost will also be appreciated. CPOA Lilyhaven Wish List

The Cape Peninsula Organisation for the Aged was founded in 1953 and registered as an NPO in 1999 and is celebrating 65 years of caring for the aged this year. Today there are over 20 residential homes in the Cape Peninsula.

These are both large and costly projects so partial funding that we can save until we have the full cost will also be appreciated.
