welcomed; please contact the clergy or the parish office. Thank you for your support.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR VICTIMS/SURVIVORS OF ABUSE: The Pontifical

Commission for the Protection of Minors (PCPM) has highlighted the importance of prayer and

prayer. The Holy Father has welcomed this initiative. In the Cycle of Prayer for England and

Wales, this day is marked every year on the Friday of the fifth week of Lent.

NEW GIFT AID ENVELOPES & STANDING ORDERS: We would like to ask current, and

any potential new gift aiders, if they would kindly consider setting up a standing order for their

contributions instead of using envelopes. The Archdiocese is gradually trying to cut down on

the use of envelopes as the standing order system is a more effective system and cuts down on a

huge amount of work. We would be grateful therefore if you could make this change. Please

contact the parish office if you need any assistance with this. Thank you for your support.

WOMEN’S CHRISTIAN UNION (WCU): WCU began 14 years ago. We meet every first

Thursday of the month from 10.00am – 12.00 noon in the Parish Hall. Our aim is to support one

another through faith and friendship. We are a lively friendly group and would love to invite

more ladies to come along and meet with us. All Christian women are welcome. Just come

and see. Thank you.

PRAYER FOR PRIESTS

O Jesus, I pray for your faithful and fervent priests; for your unfaithful and tepid priests;

for your priests labouring at home or abroad in distant mission fields; for your tempted

priests; for your lonely and desolate priests; for your young priests; for your dying

priests; for the souls of your priests in Purgatory.

But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to me: the priest who baptised me;

the priests who absolved me from my sins; the priests at whose Masses I assisted and

who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion; the priests who taught and

instructed me; all the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way.

O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart, and bless them abundantly in time and in

eternity. Amen. (St. Therese of the Child Jesus)
