SEW 03.17.2013 Fiſth Sunday in Lent WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP (based on Isaiah 43:19-21) One: Let us worship God, who has done great things. All: We rejoice in our God, who made a way through the desert of this world. One: Let us worship God, who has caused streams of mercy to flow in the wasteland. All: We are the people God has formed through Christ; we worship him, and we rejoice! One: Let us worship God in spirit and in truth. All: We praise God for the grace that has saved us. Alleluia! We rejoice! SONGS OF WORSHIP It is Well You Are Faithful PRAYER OF CONFESSION Purifying God, we grow comfortable with the way things are in our lives, in the church, and in the world. We do not always welcome the new life you offer in Christ, for you overturn our noons of power and protocol. Sure of our own righteousness, we are crical of others. Wanng to control our assets, we hoard the giſts you give us. Forgive us, we pray, for seeking our gain at the expense of others. Help us bend our lives toward your own life of self-giving and sacrifice. Fill us, our homes and churches, the whole world, with the abundant love of Christ unl all are made new. In Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.
