FINAL ARCHITECTURE PORTOLIO

Page 2: Final architecture portolio

THIS IS MY GROUPS ORIGINAL MODEL. WE PLANNED ON USING ALL ROPE AND WOOD FOR THE DESIGN. WHILE WORKING ON THE MODEL WE REALIZED IT HAD NO SET DESIGN. SO WE DECIDED TO CHANGE IT IN ORDER TO GIVE IT A MORE DEFINED LOOK.

Although we kept the basic idea of the structure, we changed everything else and the overall shape. We made constant changes while we were working on the structure.

Original Model

WE HAD GREAT TEAM WORK WHILE BUILDING THE ACTUAL STRUCTURE. ALTHOUGH WE ALL HAD DIFFERENT IDEAS, THERE WERE NO ARGUMENTS OVERALL ABOUT THE MODEL.THERE WERE A FEW TIMES WHEN WE FOUGHT OVER BOTH SPACE AND CROSSING TERRITORIES WITH THE OTHER TEAMS. BUT OVER ALL WE WERE ABLE TO COME TO CONCLUSIONS AND FIND SOLUTIONS.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE MODEL IS HELD TOGETHER BE BEAMS THAT WE DRILLED INTO THE WALL.

GIVING THE MODEL ITS FORM WAS CREATED BY THE OVERHEAD SYSTEM WE CREATED FROM ROPE, AND STRING.

THE BASE OF OUR MODEL WAS THE PLATFORM THAT CAME WITH THE TERRITORY.

THE GROUP WORKED WITH EVERY THING THAT WAS GIVEN WITH THE TERRITORY, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO HID OR MOVE IT.

COMING TOGETHER As we were working on the model, everyday we could see it coming to life. We added many things that wasn’t in the original plan, such as spaces within spaces, and using the rules of RRR(reduce, reuse, and recycle) giving the model a earth friendly, and cheap property, which he other designs and models didn’t have.

We had a space within a space, within a space, and used both serene and abstract properties for the model.

PRESENTING THE PROJECT WAS THE HARDEST PART. WE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT THE JUDGES WERE EXPECTING FROM US, AND DIDN’T HAVE TIME TO PRACTICE HOW WE WERE GOING TO PRESENT. LUCKILY WE WERE A CLOSE ENOUGH GROUP, THAT WE WERE ABLE TO PRESENT WITHOUT CUTTING EACH OTHER OFF, AND GREATLY DESCRIBING THE MODEL IN COMPLETE DETAIL.

PRESENTING-OUTSIDE

• Overall the judges enjoyed the presentation. Even more they enjoyed the look of our structure, and playing in it. The team got nervous at one point because when they were telling us on the design our use of layers around the model. I couldn’t figure out what he meant about the secondary space, but finally understood as her broke it down.

Overall the design was a success, and we as a group were able to become close to each other, like a family. I enjoyed this project. It was unlike any other I had to do, yet it was helpful to developing skills I might need in the

future. Thank you Jerry Lum for this class!
