PDS QUESTIONNAIRE

awarness about irrigationsubsidies(yes or no and rated out of10)

Source of main staple(source ofstaple means either the farmer use

its whole productivity for its own useor it sell for income)

productive amount (average)

amount of loan that the farmer havegot from the government till now(

also find paid and remaining )

Lack of awareness aboutgovernment’s irrigation subsidies

(like pani panchyat Scheme)

Due to low productivity farmers areusing all the yields for subsistenceonly.

Due to low availability of water, fertilizers the productivity level isvery low

All farmers are agree that possibleirrigation is the main reason for lowproductivity

Out of 51 family surveyed only 3 hastaken loan so far.

RECOMMENDATION IRRIGATION

well

Existing well

Complete

incomplete

New possibilities

MNERAGA wagessystem

One well can irrigate 1 to 10 acres(according to villagersapprox. 6-8acre)

Average land possess by farmers is 3.85 bigha+/-10%acres(on basis of 46 families surveyed)

approx. land possess by farmers is 331(-/+10% erroradjustment)Bigha.

Out of 86 families more than 68 families have lands(highlyuneven distribution of land, calculation error +/-10%)

Total numbers of wells required is 10

Page 23: Final Rim Folder

7/31/2019 Final Rim Folder

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/final-rim-folder 23/28

EXISTING WELLS

Two complete wells two incomplete well(incomplete due to fault in MNERGA scheme)

Two complete wells currently filled but inaccessibledue to lack to pump set.

Complete wells will unable to irrigate 6-8 acre ofland due to inappropriate depth.

It is impossible to irrigate 6-8 acre lands for wholeyear from these complete wells.

Page 24: Final Rim Folder

7/31/2019 Final Rim Folder

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/final-rim-folder 24/28

INCOMPLETE WELLS

There are two wells which are incomplete due tounavailability of labour force(due to fault inMNERAGA)

People are unwilling to work in digging well due tofault in MNREGA scheme in digging well.

Wages Under MNREGA should be based on perhour bases rather than depth measurement basis( itis more laborious and time consuming to dig well on

rocky surface rather than on sandy surface.)

These well should be prioritize first due to lessercompletion cost and time.

Page 25: Final Rim Folder

7/31/2019 Final Rim Folder

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/final-rim-folder 25/28

NEW REQUIRED

6 new wells required to irrigate remaining lands whichhas left unirrigated by 4 existing wells.

Location of the lands should be capable enough toreduce the digging and maintenance cost(well near the

bottom of the land have minimum digging andmaintenance cost)

During digging Care about proper depth and widthshould be taken such that each well will be capableenough to irrigate 6-8 acres of lands.

Wages Under MNREGA should be based on per hourbases rather than depth measurement basis( it is morelaborious and time consuming to dig well on rockysurface rather than on sandy surface.)

Page 26: Final Rim Folder

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/final-rim-folder 26/28

PDS SYSTEM

Dealer should be changed( a agreement has beensigned by more than 60 villagers and each memberwas representing one family )

Dealer should be a educated person or female from

the SHG(self help group made by SEEDS) who aremore aware about their rights and capable toprotest against dealer.

The rice distribution should be according to newration card and BPL list(2010).Even after one year it

is unavailable to villagers. There should be extensive survey to find the people

who don’t have ration cards or BPL or both.

Page 27: Final Rim Folder

7/31/2019 Final Rim Folder

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/final-rim-folder 27/28

CONTI…

Proper enquiries should be made to find out theprevious reasons of absenteeism of rice distributionunder PDS and BPL scheme.

During action against dealer, some points from the

side of dealer should be considered like asymmetryin getting ration from main PDS warehouse,Musabani and some complains against marketingofficers.

Quick information should be provided to us on thebehalf of 4 RTI filed by us.
