    Purpose! FINLINES

This year our February meeting was at the American Legion. Fifty-six (56) Parrot Heads signed in for the night’s activities.

The Pot Luck was a huge success with plenty of Cajun de-lights for everyone. We all enjoyed the wonderful food and a few tasty beverages while we visited with our phriends.

Every year we crown a king and queen of our Fat Tuesday meeting. This year our King was George McMillen and there

was a tie for Queen. Robbie Thames and Carla McMillen were crowned the Queens. Their outfits were in true Mardi-Gras Fashion.

Last year the King Cakes were MIA. It was great to see them back this year. Since the baby is now con-sidered “dangerous” and excluded from the cakes, we need to make sure someone brings one next year.

    The meeting conclud-

ed with the Parrot Heads surpris-ing David and Cathy with a Tiki Bar. They were truly surprised. David told everyone they could look forward to seeing it in action at the Boley Bash. Awesome!!!

    Bon Mardi Gras Mes Amis!

Don Middlebrook at 5 o’Clock Somewhere BarI hope you were one of the forty Parrot Heads who heard the Michigan Trop Rock-er, Don Middlebrook, play at the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar on Janu-ary 24th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.

If you were there you know Don did not disap-point the Parrot

music, Jimmy songs, and various other trop rock tunes.

Jan Wollenschlager, Vicki Eberle, and Dianne Fleming got on the stage and danced while they played var-ious percussion instruments with Don. Their various mu-sical talents were very entertain-ing. What a phun evening.

    TULSA PA

RROT HEADS BOWL FOR KIDS SAKE

Bowl for Kid’s Sake is about having fun while also pos-itively impacting the life of a child. What an awe-some fit for our slogan “Party with a Purpose”.

We need your help in sup-porting Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Tulsa by play-ing on a Tulsa Parrot Head Club (TPHC) team, donat-ing to one of our teams, or by creating a team of your own and joining us.

We currently have five teams participating on April 21st at Andy B’s Bowling from 2:00pm - 4:00pm. We would really love to have as many members as possible come

join us at the bowling alley. Regardless of whether you want to bowl or not, we do need everyone to come help support the TPHC by cheering on our teams.

What if I cannot bowl and I cannot come out and sup-port the teams in person? Well that’s easy, donate to one or more of our bowlers since they each have a min-imum goal to raise $100 for BBBS.

Donating is easy. Go to: http://do-nate.bbbsok.org/campaigns/5729-bowl-for-kids-sake-tulsa-2018 and click on “Donate”.

Happy Margarita Day!A groups of Parrot Heads gathered together to celebrate the blessed Margarita Day and play some golf at the Flying T on Thursday, Febru-ary 22nd. For those of you who were not able to make it (and you know who you are), you missed a fun time golfing. Some were better than others, but everyone had a blast. Also, on the Rocks or Frozen the Margaritas were deeee-lish!!

    Donate, Donate, Donate!!!

Tulsa Ice Oilers NightThe Parrot Heads will

be phlocking to the ice to cheer on the Tulsa Ice Oilers on Wednesday, April 4th. Do you have your tickets yet?

Maybe hockey is not your thing. What about $1 beer night. Grab a nice cold beer and visit with you phriends. If that’s not enough to draw you in, $3 of each ticket we purchase will be donated to our charity, Family and Chil-dren Services. Tickets are $13 per person.

Now here is the complicated part. In order to get the $3 donation for our Charity, you

must reserve your seat using the link: https://fevo.me/2rRAbJJ.

We look forward to seeing our phlock at the ice!

Attitude of GratitudeAn interview with our Treasurer Tammi MartinSubmitted by Don Jones

Don recently sat down with the Trea-sure of the Tulsa Parrot Head Club, Tammi Martin. I hope you enjoy the interview. How long have you been a Parrot Head? How many years have you been an officer of TPHC? - I have been a member of the Tulsa Parrot Head Club since 1999. I am not exactly sure how long I have been an officer, but I think I have been an offi-cer for over 15 years. What other clubs or organizations are you active in? And/or serve in leadership roles? It might sound a little bit lame, but my full time job and the Tulsa Parrot Head Club are where I spend most of my time.Where were you “born and raised?” What high school? College? What is your “real” job? I was born and raised a T-town girl. I went to high school at Tulsa Will Rogers High School. I am going on my 2nd year in Accounts Receivable at Superior Linen Service.Tell us a little bit about your family. Children? Grandchildren? Names and ages? ? I have two grown kiddos, one daughter-in-law, one granddaugh-ter, and five grand-dogs. My daughter, Megan, who lives in BA is mom to Makina and three rescue furb-abies. My son and daughter-in-law, Jaret and Kayla, live in Owasso and are mom and dad to two furbabies. My granddaughter, Makina, is a Senior at BA and is heading to Missouri State next year on a volleyball scholarship. I am so proud of her.How many Buffett concerts have you attended? Where and when was the first? What was your

favorite concert? I have been to fourteen JB concerts. My first concert was with TPHC crew at the old fairgrounds stadium when we first started going to Dallas. My favorite was probably the Memorial Day concert when Jimmy played with Alan Jackson and George Strait.Besides “Parrot heading” do you have any hobbies? What do you do to chillax? I am a Pintrest/HGTV junkie. I like to find old things, refurbish them to make them new or just re-purpose them. I love to cook and

hang out with friends and family whenever possible. What is your favorite food? Favorite Beverage? Favorite Buffett song(s)? Mexican food, pasta, and seafood, Vino, and One Particular Harbour..What trait or traits in people do you like the most? What traits do you like the least? I really like Friendly, upbeat. I dislike Negativity....Drama.If there was no more Buffett or Trop Rock music, what would be on your playlist? I really like Reg-gae, Country, and Rock. What improvements or changes would you like to see for the Tulsa Parrot Head Club over the next five (5) years? I wish I had a magic potion I could use to find out how we can get more of our members to become more active and participate in club activities/functions. I would also like us to find more communi-ty service activities that we can participate in to give back to our local community. All good interviews must end with a goofy ques-tion. Here is yours. If you were the new color in the Crayola box, which color would it be and why? They would be Aqua and Tan, the colors of the ocean and the beach which is my favorite place to be.The next time you see Tammi, give her a big hug and a big thank you for being on our board as our Treasurer. Phins Up!
