Fire proof sliding doors REI 120: mounting instructions

a) Check if order sizes are the same of the wallsize. In case of more sliding doors, distribute thematerials following the code indicated on eachcomponent.

b) Check verticality and square of structural wall, verify if the floor is plane in correspondence ofthe wall and the side of rest panel in openingposition.

c) Fix the closing jamb (1) [ref. (27) in case of sli-

ding with back counterbalance] with expansion

dowels, position it to 2 cm from the hole. We sug-gest to fix also a dowel in the floor.Bind the spin of same mounting in collision case.

[In case of sliding door 2 leaves, position the

guide and make the references, written on the

guide, equal to the wall opening and use the

counterbalance covering (26) in order to determi-

ne the height from the floor.]

d) Fix the superior guide (2) by dowels (not in theequipment) laying it down on the jamb (1). In caseof door closing by thermofuse, the guide must behorizontal. In case of door closing by electroma-gnet, fix the guide in the opposite side of the clo-sing point 2-3 cm up.

e) Assemble the door panels (3) on horizontalfloor (pay attention not to spoil them) and stopthem to the “C” shape profiles, bottom and top(4) by means of supplied screws (5). Mount thethermal gasket (23) as per scheme.

f) Fix the top horizontal labyrinth (6) on the door.

g) Mount the wheels (7) on the supports joinedto the “C” top profile (4).

h) Turn until the panel arise the vertical position, attach the wheels to the guide (2), already fixed.

i) Regulate the height of the door to assure anheight of slide from floor of 1 cm (+/ 5 mm)during movement.

j) Slide the door panel over the wall light untilthe position of the wheel of the bottom guideappears (8). Fix the wheel with the expansiondowel equipped. Verify that it maintains the panelin vertical position.

k) Position the stirrup door wheel of the counter-balance (9) with the plate in equipment (10) bythe bolts (11).

l) Apply the stirrup of the thermofuse (12) if any,use the plate (10) and the bolts (11). In case of mq.> 10, fix the guide with one more point of wel-ding, and then with cold galvanizing.

m) In case of thermofuse (14), mount the rope(13) as per scheme 1 and stop it in the stirrup(12)). [In case of sliding door 2 leaves see dra-

wing enclosed]

n) In case of electromagnet, mount the rope (13)as per scheme 2 and stop it in the stirrup of thefront wheel with the clips.

o) Regulate the counterbalance (15) with the pla-tes (16) in equipment.

p) Mount the front detention (17), equipped ofrubber, and regulate it until the sliding panel isblocked. Maintain 5 mm between the panel andthe closing point.

q) Install the back detention (18) and weld it tothe guide. When completely opened, the panelhas to be over the opening.

r) Fix the flame labyrinth (18) and following theback steel covering (20) with the screw in equip-ment (21).

s) Mount the gasket (23) and fix the vertical andhorizontal flame labyrinths (22).

t) Install the electromagnet, the shock absorberand/or continuous shock absorber as per scheme.

u) Fix the counterbalance covering (24) with theequipped screws (21).

v) Mount the top covering guide (25). In case thecovering has made up of more pieces, we sug-gest to fix it to the stirrups of the covering.

D: Mounting/regulation of the wheels

• Do not employ fixed elements to keep the door opened. The opening of the mobile leaf could be maintained onlywith devices accepted from the manufacturer.

• Except special agreement while ordering, the doors have to be placed in closed buildings.

• The cleaning of the surface is performed with cleansers of normal domestic use, avoiding the use of abrasive, aggressive substances or solvents.

• Usually, doors are painted with finish epoxy at 180°. Prior of any further paint, we suggest a deep cleaning of surfacewith light sand-paper and then application of a primer. In any case the application of nitro varnishes is dissuaded.

MAINTENANCE

.

TIMING

As indicative parameters, you could consider the following scheme to identify the type of usage of the door.Light usage = 1-3 daily openings Medium usage = 2 - 5 daily openings Intensive usage = 4 -10 daily openingsThe above parameters have been calculated on doors with size approx. 16 mq; in case of different size increase or dimi-nish the cycles of opening/closing; for size over 25 mq the daily usage is not proper (we suggest periodic maintenance). The maintenance program must be personalised in case of particular conditions (such us public parking, etc.).In case of sliding doors normally not opening, we suggest a monthly checking of the self-closing system, in order to evi-dence greater frictions between the mechanical components.

DESCRIPTION

Grease and regulate the wheels Verify that the leaf maintains an height between 5 and 15 mm from floor. On the contrary, make the regulation: take out the upper covering guide(25), unscrew the bolts and regulate the vertical screws.

Registration of closing system The working of the closing system by electromagnet is clear. In case ofthermofuse (14), uncouple it from its place. If door does not close, verifythe mechanism by taking out the covering (26).

Check leaf space, check leaf The leaf and the labyrinths must have no deformation, no corrosion, noperforations.

Check thermal gasket The thermal gasket must be adherent in all points, see ref. (23).

Regulate the self-closing mechanism In case of high speed while closing, check if mechanism is safe, and regula-te it (see page 7).

Substitute damaged components The accessories for fire proof doors must be bought from specialised dea-lers. No responsibility in case of improper applications.
