Point-to-point Wireless Ethernet

• Ideal for interconnecting remote cameras

• Designed for 1 to 3 links, or to extend mesh

• Typical ranges: .5 to 5 miles with built-in Antenna

• Up to 20 miles with higher gains

• Designed for ease of deployment

• Out of the box installation

• Intuitive user interface

• Mesh certification not required

12

Deployment Considerations

 Select FWB-200 vs FWB-100

Always perform a site survey with a spectrum analyzer

 Antenna Alignment

13

Daisy-chaining Bridges

Firetide Confidential

• OK for Data connectivity

• But not for video backhaul High latency – Choppy Video

Lower performance – No optimization end to end

14

Deployment Considerations

 Select FWB-200 vs FWB-100

• Higher capacity

 MIMO radio

 GigE interface

• Greater distances (2x distance)

15

Spectrum Analysis

Use commercially available tools -- Coming soon Spectrum Analysis built in to Bridges

16

Antenna Alignment

Essential for high performance target RSSI -60 or better for optimal performance.

For speeds above 100 Mbps – RSSI should be between

 -40 dBm to – 55 dBm

Preliminary Antenna Alignment capability built into bridges

Shows RSSI changes as the Antenna is aligned

Coming soon – Graphical antenna alignment similar to the one in mesh

Things to Consider

 FWB-205 are stand-alone links

• FWB-205 radios cannot directly communicate with Firetide mesh nodes

• Connect via Ethernet cable

 Point-to-multipoint configuration is not supported

• If project calls for PtMP configuration, propose Firetide mesh nodes

• Consider future expansion possibilities

Firetide authorization required to sell FWB-205, but not mesh

certification

18

Additional Information

Firetide Training – FCEA course (recommended but not mandatory)

Online support resources (partners extranet) Coming soon – HOWTO vides in partners extranet
