Words for Baby“Baby, God made you! He has given you somany people to help you! They help you bytaking care of you each day. I hope youalways remember to thank God for makingyou and for putting people in your life totake care of you!”

Pre-K

Pre-KHello, First Look Friends! HAPPY THANKSGIVINGto all of our friends here in the States! And howabout a ‘happy we’re thankful for you’ to the restof our friends out there! Because, without you wecouldn’t do what we do! And what are we doing this month? I’m so glad youasked! This month we’re helping preschoolers learn to say thank you for thepeople who help them. And there are a lot of people who help preschoolers!First, there’s family. I mean family is like at the top of the list! Our preschoolfriends will hear how Aaron helped his brother Moses this month. Then, there are community helpers all around us who help us just as Nehemiah’scommunity helped him rebuild the wall. There are all kinds of other peoplehelping preschoolers by giving them what they need—people like you! Yougive them hugs, snacks, and best of all, God’s true stories! We need allkinds of people to help us! Elijah got some great help from a woman whoprepared an entire room for him. Oh, and last but not least—friends.Preschoolers need friends. You and I need friends. We all need friends!Friends help us have fun, do what’s right and they come in handy when weforget our snack. I’m pretty sure Elijah was thankful for his new friend, thewidow, when she shared her food! Our preschoolers need help, tons andtons of help. And, we want them to grow up with eyes that see the peoplewho help them, and a heart that says thanks. That’s the goal this month.God’s way is perfect! God’s way is right! God’s way is awesome! And, Godwill show us the way.

Grades K-8thWe continue our look at Honor in 1 Samuel 18:1-9, 19:1-17, and 20:1-42. Jonathan was the princeof Israel. He was set to follow in his father’sfootsteps. He could have ignored God’s plan forDavid and done his own thing to ensure his ownplace on the throne. Yet, Jonathan saw God was doing something differentand showed kindness to David in spite of what Saul thought. Bottom Line:Honor others by putting them first. When we see people as God sees them,we start to realize that how we treat them matters. One of the easiest wayswe can show people honor is by putting their needs before our own. This isexactly what God did for us when He sent Jesus to be our Savior.

Week 3

Bottom Line: Choose to change you.

Admit it: there’s something satisfyingabout watching someone else’s cringe-worthy moment. When acelebrity face plants on stage at a concert or someone slips upand says something stupid on TV, we’re all watching and re-watching those moments for a good laugh (thanks, Internet). Those kinds of laughs seem harmless; after all, we don’t evenknow those people! But if we’re being honest, we could allprobably say we’ve done the same thing to people we actually doknow—our friends, our family, the people at school we don’tnecessarily like. Maybe we didn’t mean to at first, but sometimeswe move from teasing and mocking what someone did to teasingand mocking who someone is. That’s shaming other people and, whether we want to admit it or not, we’re all guilty of it. But is thatreally the way we want to live? Is that really how we want to makeother people feel? One thing’s for sure: it’s definitely not the way

God wants us to live! But rather than just tell us what He doesn’twant us to do, Jesus takes it a step further and gives usinstructions on exactly what He wants us to do when it comes tothe way we treat other people. And if we can apply it to our ownlives, we’ll find that while we may not be able to change whatother people do, we can definitely change the way we treat them.
