Creating a Yahoo AccountAfter going to the URL above you will need to log into a Yahoo Account or create an account by clicking on Create Your Account (shown at right). Creating an account with Yahoo is free.

Overview of FlickrOnce you’ve logged in you will be presented with a screen like the screenshot shown below. This is the basic interface for your Flickr �les. Here you can upload pictures, organize them into sets, share them with your contacts and more. Follow the steps to Personalize your pro�le, Upload you �rst photos and learn about contacts and sharing.

All about YouThe second menu option you see is You. Here you can view your Photostream (your collection of photos), view individual sets of photos, your whole archive, tags you’ve added to photos, your map (if you have tagged your photos with locations), your favorites and stats about the activity.

OrganizeThe Organize menu lets you view all content, most recent uploads and organize your sets and your map.

ContactsContacts allows you to keep an address book up to date, and invite friends to view your photos.

GroupsGroups are another way to organize your contacts. Here you can search for and create new groups you can invite to see your photos.

ExploreThe Explore section of Flickr allows you to seach for public images other people have uploaded into the Flickr service. Here you can �nd unique or interesting pictures that other users have uploaded in the last 7 days, search by popular tags, view images by using the calendar, most recent uploads and more.

Upload to FlickrAfter you have logged into your account you can begin to upload images into Flickr. From the Home page choose Upload Your First Photos. You will be taken to a screen like the one on page 4. Click Choose photos and videos and you will be presented with the dialog box allowing you to navigate to the location on your computer that you have photos stored and either choose one �le at a time and click open or hold the Control Key (Ctrl) on the keyboard down and choose several �les to upload and click open. (see page 4 for screenshot)

From the next screen you can choose privacy options for the images. Either make your images private allowing only your friends and/or family to view the photos or you can make them public so anyone on �ickr can view your photos. (see page 5 for screenshot)

After choosing the privacy setting click upload photos and videos and your photos will upload into your Flickr account. (see page 6 for screenshot)

After the photos are uploaded you can add a title, description, tags and add them to sets. Tags are a way to categorize your photos and sets are groupings of photos (similar to a folder). Once this is �nished click Save and you will be taken to your photostream. (see page 6 for screenshot)

Editing PhotosOnce an image is uploaded you can edit the image by cropping it, rotating the images, deleting the image or ordering prints of the images. Navigate to your Photostream and choose a picture you’d like to edit by clicking on the photo.

Flickr uses a separate service called Picnik to perform the photo editing. When you click on edit photo you will be prompted to enable Picnik to perform the editing on your photos. Click ok and the photo editing service will load and begin in the browser. (screenshot shown below)

Sharing PhotosAfter you’ve uploaded your photos you can begin to share them. Just go to the Contacts page and click on Invite People.

Fill out the form with email addresses and Full Names of your invites. Choose whether the person is a friend or family. Here you can edit the invitation message that they will see and then click send. Your email will be sent out to those people and they will be given access to view your photos after they create a free yahoo account to log into the Flickr service.
