Two – Style and Costume By Serena Chu

ConceptThe concept of this treatment sheet is to plan our ideas of our makeup and costume to go with the conventions of Florence subtly but also so that is shows our individual idea’s as well creating a creative atmosphere towards the upcoming video, this is because the fan base of Florence is highly influenced around her style of clothing.

StyleThe overall style of Hayley will be quite gothic and Florence like such as blouses and dresses, which give her a feminine

look but still goes with the convention of indie rock. Flat shoes are appropriate due to her dance style, it also refers back to Florence.

CostumeMost of the costume in Florence ’s video and the clothes she usually ware is the color of white, black or some drack colors. In her music video her costume is tight and shinnying most of the time, the design is unique but not exaggerate. In her music video we usually will see 2 or 3 different costumes, such as each for narrative and for performance.

In our music video we would like Hayley ware 2 costumes. Base on our story, for the narrative part, Hayley will dress a drack color victoria era dress to represent our story and also suit in the painting. The reason we chose drack color is we

want to create a mystery

atmosphere and the story of this part is she want to

get away from what she suffering now, the rules. She will ware a black Victorian era style flats to suit this dress.

We would like she dress a white tight sexy dress for the performance. The performance will represent that she decided she want to get out from the rules, from the pain and she want to shout out her mind. Also, a sexy dress is must in a female music video to show her body and attract audience. A black high-heel will ware by Hayley which

related to the Victorian costume, black flats could present a sexy style as well.

Make upIn the Victorian era, a healthy and natural complexion was valued. For realistic, this part, Hayley’s make up will be with a natural tone, natural foundation, brown eyebrow, pink-cheeked and light eye shadow. Hayley’s lip color will be natural base on the history, during Victorian times, lipstick was banned, so we won’t use any colorful lipstick, for a better look, we will use no color lip balm or nude color lipstick to make her lip looks healthier.

Her hair will be tied up and back. Because none of us are professional, her hair will be easy tied up like Victorian time hair style.

The performance part, Hayley’s make up will be fashionable to present a powerful female image. A smoky eye and bright red lip will be use to brighten up her look which could help the creation of her on-stage image. By using black eye-line with brown and black eye-shadow, Hayley’s eyes could be highlighted which could make her looks emphasis. The reason we chose bright red lip is that a bright color could make audience feel she is approachable and this is also a fashion looks. Her hair is loose like the model in the photo.
