In an effo ort to assist districts w with the deli ivery of the s student portf folio, the Jus st Read, Flor rida! office h has created t the Florida D Department o of Education n Third-Grad de Portfolio ( (FDOE Port tfolio) in par rtnership wit th Flagler, C Charlotte, Co ollier and Sa arasota schoo ol districts. T The followin ng information will prov vide teachers with the guidance neces ssary to comp plete a portf folio with ide entified stud dents. The FDO OE Portfolio must meet t the following g criteria as stated in the e State Board d Rule. Portfolio items must: : (a) Be selected by the e student’s teacher, (b) Be an n accurate pi icture of the student’s ab bility and onl ly include st tudent work that has bee en independ dently produc ced in the cl lassroom, (c) Includ de evidence that the stan ndards assess sed by the G Grade 3 Engl lish Languag ge Arts (ELA A) assessme ent have been n met. Evide ence is to inc clude multip ple choice ite ems and pass sages that ar re approxim mately sixty ( (60) percent t literary text t and forty (4 40) percent i information text, and tha at are between 100-700 wo ords with an average of 5 500 words. S Such evidenc ce could incl lude chapter r or unit tests s from the district’s/scho ool’s adopted d core readin ng curriculum m that are aligned with t the English L Language Ar rts Florida S Standards or teacher-prep pared assessm ments, (d) Be an n organized c collection of f evidence of f the student t’s mastery o of the Englis sh Language e Arts Florida S Standards tha at are assesse ed by the Gr rade 3 Englis sh Language e Arts (ELA) assessment t. For each standard, th here must be at least three (3) examp ples of maste ery as demon nstrated by a a grade of seventy (70) ) percent or above on each example, , and (e) Be sig gned by the teacher and the principa al as an accur rate assessm ment of the re equired readi ing skills. The FDO OE Portfolio provides cla assroom teac chers with to ools and reso ources which h may be use ed to documen nt evidence o of a student’s s mastery of f the third-gr rade ELA sta andards. Stu udents should d be able to un nderstand th he text, read w with fluency y and respon nd to a variet ty of questio ons based on the text read. The Just Read, Florid da! office ha as compiled a an inventory y of reading passages wi ith accompan nying questions s available in n the Item B Bank and Tes st Platform (I IBTP). up the student login screen b Provide studentsrsquo usernames and passwords See Step 2 in Steps to Complete Prior

to Test Administration Day above c Students log in using their credentials If prompted to select an organization on the

SSO website select Students Students confirm their name is displayed d Provide the Online Passcode to the students This can be written on the board or

provided to each student along with their login credentials The Online Passcode is the same for all students taking a given test

e Students will enter the Online Passcode to access the test Teachers should confirm that each student has accessed the appropriate test by asking students to look for the correct test name at the top of their screens

f Students begin test by clicking Start Test Now at bottom right corner of the screen
