Main Findings

Overall public satisfaction remains high and have improved since mid 2007 despiteissues and pressures from rising inflation

Of factors tested, prices and jobs are items of majority concern

Public sentiments over prices have further worsened over the past six months

But at the same time, optimism over the business climate has continued to be high

Public satisfaction with services provided by the state government saw a small decline butcontinues to remain high

Similarly majority remain optimistic over the states economic conditions althoughsentiments in January 2007 showed a marginal decline from July 2007

Economic sentiments in the state remain more positive than the national average

Islam Hadhari & ECER

Majority of the voters in Kelantan say they do not understand what Islam Hadhari is allabout

Lack of comprehension cuts across age and gender

On the other hand, a majority (62%) have heard of the Eastern Corridor Economic Region(ECER)

Only half of the respondents feel that the ECER will benefit them

A plurality (39%) felt that measures like the ECER is a reason to change the state

government but the results is not conclusive
